Commercial Description:
Big Cypress Brown Ale is a bold, American-style brown ale that would make our phriends from Vermont proud. It is made with lots of English brown malt to give a deep, smoky roastiness. Caramel and chocolatey characters abound along with an earthy hop aroma and flavor.

Very dark brown with a fizzy white head. Nutty molases aroma and taste but a watery palate.

Chestnut brown pour with a dense light tan head. Simple nutty aroma with some mild crystal malt sweetness. Toasted flavor with a fluffy feel. Nutty and softly sweet. Rounded, hits the style, it’s just nothing standout.

(10/30/08) Draught sample at the brewpub in San Francisco. 4.1%. Dark reddish-brown color with a rather creamy beige head. Nutty malt aroma with some caramel, light fruitiness and buttery notes. Sweetish malty flavor with some nuts, toasted bread notes and caramel. Medium-bodied.

Cask at the brewpub. Roasted "brown" aroma. Opaque brown color with a decent tan head. Medium to full body with prickly carbonation. Flavor is dark roasted malt (but not burnt) with enough fuggles? hop to balance. Finishes malty and dry. Good brown.

...was surprised at this beer. It was similar to a New Castle, with more quality. Deep flavor with nuttiness, but an overall lighter beer. It was good, and I wanted more.

Rich aroma with roast, nut, caramel and chocolate. Moderate hopping present. After that, body is highly carbonated, somewhat light. A good start and a bad finish.

Damn solid brown ale here. Pours DARK brown (are you sure they didn’t pour me the stout again?). I thought they messed up at first but then had a nice whiff and knew they had everything straight... these guys are pros. They even have a specific glass for each beer they serve. Aroma is malty, some caramel, some roasted malt and also a decent dose of hops. Flavor is slightly sweet with a bitter finish. Nice.

(On tap) 4.9% ABV in my version. Clear, dark, orangey brown with a small, off-white head. Lightly nutty nose. Medium body, some nutty flavours and a dry finish. A very uncomplicated and highly drinkable Brown Ale. 210307
