boomshanker (5), sunbury-on-thames, England does not count Nov 4, 2006 Tried this on draft at the brewpub during a far too short visit on vacation. The brewer intentionally seeks to give the beer an ’English’ feel and succeeds magnificently. This was bitter, complex and refreshing and will be a ’must’ on my next trip. mwsf (361), San Francisco, California, USA Oct 2, 2002 On cask: Cloudy copper color. No head although a big head isn’t really expected from a cask beer. Light malt, yeasty aroma with very faint hops. Light aroma of green apples. Very smooth flavor. Malty with very faint caramel flavor. Mild bitterness. Medium body. Lightly creamy. Very drinkable. Tasty, well-balanced bitter. argo0 (6332), Washington DC, USA Feb 7, 2002 Tasting Notes from Fall 2000: Pleasant, traditional bitter with good malt signature acrdz (4535), Boulder, Colorado, USA Jul 16, 2004 Dark red hue, hoppy flavor, mild nose with dark fruit and some nuts. Decent beer, not a regular bitter but still good. Fresh hops abound. GeneralGao (2726), Iowa City, Iowa, USA Mar 24, 2007 Cask at the brewpub. Poured a clear reddish-orange color. Head was bubbly and white with good retention and lacing. Distinct aromas of malty caramel and graham cracker. Flavor was similar. Pretty good English style bitter.
