BigBang (173), Indiana, USA Sep 11, 2008 On tap at Magnolia. Pours black with two finger brown head. Pretty thin mouthfeel. Strong coffee aftertaste. Not really memorable. PaulHegedus (187), Brampton, Ontario, Canada Sep 2, 2008 Draught at Magnolia Brewpub on Haight St. in San Francisco, July 2008. Cask. This struck me as watery. The usual chocolate, coffee aroma plus some licorice; coffee seems light in both aroma and flavour. Black in colour, light in bitterness. bb (2320), Martinez, California, USA Aug 28, 2008 Draft. Brown/black beer with a tan head. Chocolate and light roast aroma. Chocolate, light roast flavor with some acrid malt. Medium body. Acrid malt lingers with chocolate, roast, and slight coffee. Black colored brew. Nice malty bitterness. Chocolate, coffee, hoppy. Nice one! bhensonb (3221), Woodland, California, USA Apr 26, 2008 Draft at the brewpub. Toasted malt aroma. Dark opaque black color with no real head. Near medium body with minimal carbonation. Light roast (touch of toast) malt with floral bitter and a hint of coffee. Finishes dry, but not astringently so. Really rather refreshing in a dark way.
