i was all excited at tasting my first american attempt at a belgian ale and this is what i ended up with. lots of rotten pear and kero sweetness, sticky and downright unpleasant

Feb 11, 2007 On tap at Alembic (San Fran). This dark brown ale poured with a miniscule off-white head. It is very malty and nutty, with a chalkiness that sticks to the tongue and a bitter finish.

Jan 16, 2007 Dark red color with good carbonation. Roasty aroma, thickish nut malt, yeasty but thin-to-medium on the whole.

Dec 12, 2004 Tap. Brown ale with a slightly sulfury aroma. Smokey nutt malt, not too sweet, a point tart. Good bodied. (June 2004).

May 25, 2004 Tap@Magnolia Pub and brewery- pretty bad go at a Belgian Dubbel. Belgian yeastyness is there, but its pretty thin and sweet, extracty, tasted half finished.
