Commercial Description:
Our tribute to Cologne’s unique, crisp, golden ale/lager hybrid. We start with German malt and hops and tie it all together with a true Kolsch yeast from Cologne to impart some subtle fruit and wine flavors while producing the smoothness of a lager. Served in an authentic Kolsch stange to enchance the crisp, cool, effervescence of this thirst-quenching beer. Malts: German pilsner, Munich and wheat Hops: German Spalt and Hersbrucker

Draught at the brewpub. Clear golden color with white head. Smells and tastes of citrusy hops with a nice malty cereal grain flavor. Not bad overall, but not exciting.

On tap at the brewpub. This really tastes like a kolsch. Golden in color with a white head. Does not have a harsh biting aftertaste like some kolsch biers do. Has a little bit of an apple aroma. A sweet flavor at first, then a bit of a plastic mouthfeel.

Golden colour. Light grassy continental hop nose with bready malts. Crisp, lightly fruity flavour with a rather tangy malt character. Finishes sweetish. Wow, actually Kolsch-like.

Draught at the brewpub. Clear pale golden, no head. Fruity, perfumy nose. Sweet and fruty with some grassy hops and sparkling mouthfeel. Some unfortunate notes of syrup before a grassy, salty finish. A very decent kölsch.

On tap at the brewpub. Medium yellow, small white head - a few nice streaming bubbles as well. Very light grain aroma with slight hops. Light active mouthfeel. Interesting dry hop (not dry-hopped) taste - makes the finish very short. Hops are almost white wine like in their bitterness - I’m having a hard time describing it, but this is my first Kolsch, perhaps this is a characteristic of the style? I thought it was like a thicker pils. Ok, not sure if it is to style, but it is quenching and drinkable, just a little bland and non-existent aroma.

On tap at the San Francisco "Brews on the Bay" Festival. Light golden pour, crisp white head. Aroma is lemony and buttery. Flavor has some good buttery and salty notes, very sweet and refreshing. Very flavorful Kolsch. Highly carbonated.

Clear pale yellow colour with thin stark white head. Pungent fruity nose with hints of yeast. Tangy bitting fruity taste with dry tangy pils like finish.
