Oct 31, 2009 On tap at Toronado. This clear blonde ale poured with a thin white head and a floral aroma. The pale malt base is very flavorful and the hopping is very interesting, providing a dry bitter finish.

Very fruity and hoppy aroma. Golden coloured and hoppy with some alcohol present. A little bitterness in a crisp slightly dry and creamy finish.

Jul 27, 2009 Tap at the brewpub. Clear amber color with an off-white head. Aroma is malt, spices, and piney/citrusy hops. Flavor is sweet Maris Otter and caramel malts with black tea and a rough orangey and grapefruity hop finish. Palate medium with lingering bitterness.

Jul 16, 2009 Draught at the brewpub. Lightly hazy gold with a small head. The aroma was a nice combination of spicy grapefruit zest and pine. The flavor starts off with a nice sweet toasty malt and finishes very bitter and dry with lots of grapefruit peel. Medium body with lighter carbonation. Malty, but hugely bitter (the board said 100IBU) and well balanced. The flavors seemed so simple, but they got the job done.

Apr 14, 2009 Tap at the brewpub: Cloudy orange with visible hop floaties and a dense & strong off white head. Very fresh hop nose- peach (amarillo), lemon grass and spicy piny notes. Creamy feel with a rounded flavor. Light honeyish sweetness in the background holds up some tropical fruit hop notes (mango, peach) Evidently an American hybrid hop (probably Amarillo). Fruity, and not overly bitter, nor sweet. A balanced and solid profiled IPA.

Mar 13, 2009 I was surprized that this was at the Day of the Living Ales 2009, held at Goose island Wrigleyville, Chicago. Why? Because it was definitely off, and I can’t see any brewery intentionally presenting itself this way. It had a brown body that was light enough to almost appear yellow, topped by a wispy little head. It had a strong butterscotch aroma "balanced" by an herbal bitterness. The flavor was much the same, some pine perhaps being added to the blend. I had this early on at the festival and my taste buds were still fairly alive at the time... This was just wrong.
