Sep 2, 2008 Draught at Magnolia Brewpub on Haight St. in San Francisco, July 2008. Cask. In the glass: orange/gold with a small head, aromas of pine, then citrus and peach in the hops. Nice and bitter.

Aug 2, 2008 Tried both the cask ale and standard draft varieties at Magnolia Pub and Brewery. This was my first time trying a cask ale and was pleasantly surprised. Both varieties were good but the cask ale had a mellower flavor and a smoother, creamier mouthfeel. Good amount of hops present, but a nice balance with the sweetness from the malts.

Jul 21, 2008 Cask at Hamiltons. Pours with a slightly cloudy, golden amber body topped by a thick head with some lacing left on the glass. It’s grapefruity and slightly piney from the hops with a slightly sweet, malty note and very slight medicinal note. medium bodied, smooth and a touch dry.

Jul 14, 2008 Hand pump at Toronado. Amber pour with some white head. Aroma is really fresh resiny hops, quite nice, a little grassy and floral. Flavor is the same resinous and piney. These hopped up beers are great when they are fresh like this.
