SirTom (85), Atlanta, Georgia, USA Mar 5, 2004 It's 8.7% abv. Not 7, not 8.8. This may be the best imperial stout I've ever had. The beers at this place are amazing. Very strong coffee flavours, perfect bitterness and alcohol. aspidites (1268), manteca, California, USA Mar 10, 2005 Wow a monster beer. Blackest beer I have seen in ages. Dark brwn head very good retention. Absolutely no malt bitterness or astringency. Bittersweet chocolate and espresso flavors with a very big malt forward mouthfeel yet as smooth as silk. Dark caramel and toffee notes with a very creamy finish, fairly dry for style. Molasses and mocha residue after the finish. Huge Beere of amazing balance. wetherel (1217), Encinitas, California, USA Feb 11, 2008 Tried on tap at Magnolia pub during strong ale month. Great pub/restaurant. Pitch black. Creamy lingering small bubble head. Roasty smell. Sweet malty rich aroma. Delicious. luvcasks (178), USA Feb 19, 2006 Part of the strong-beer month tasting
