Wulfstan (481), California, USA May 22, 2008 This is actually a pretty good pilsner, with a real pilsner quality and hop flavour, particularly rather in the German style. It is gold with a medium white head that soon shrinks to a thin foamy top. The aroma is light flowery grain, honey, bread, a little pine and a hint of grass. The taste is stronger, with a strong, lighhtly astringent herbal and grassy quality up front, with grain, bread crust, sweetness, and a hint of pine. It all settles together after the first sip but remains, flavourful, aromatically hoppy and herbal with herbal bitterness and bread.
mgoy (305), Oak Brook, Illinois, USA Dec 11, 2008 Maharaja Premium Lager is sweet with cloves and some extra spice that I could not quite put my finger on. The color is a clear yellow with a small fizzy head. The aroma is nice, and light.
This was a great pairing with a very spicy meal.
mkel07 (63), Brisbane, Australia Dec 9, 2008 330ml bottle. Absolutley no head when poured - hazy gold in colour with very little carbonation. Malty aroma - watery thin taste. junon (160), Honolulu, Hawaii, USA Oct 21, 2008 Why do I bother with these import lager/Pilsners anymore? They all essentially taste the same with varying bitter & sourness. This one is particularly sour. thooper41 (271), USA Oct 12, 2008 330ml bottle: appearance is golden brown with a bit of amber with a quick fading white head, aroma hint of stale malt, flavor stale malt and that taste that comes from canned beer. didnt have high hopes for this one and this sure didnt try to impress. another beer off the list of new countries and another beer on the list of "do not buy"
mfd. 11/07 batch 103 dwyerpg (2174), Las Vegas, Nevada, USA Sep 26, 2008 A pretty malty aroma; grassy. This isn’t too bad. Crisp, with some malt and dryness in the flavor. A good lasting dry finish.
