Pours deep clear golden with a thick white head. Aroma of grain, floral hops, smoke, some caramel and a slight whiff of alcohol. Flavor has notes of grain, toasted malt, caramel and then a blast of bitter hops. Pleasantly sweet and malty, lingering bitter finish with a touch of alcohol. Medium bodied with a very silky-smooth texture and lively carbonation. Lacing hangs on the glass like puffy clouds. Great, thick head retention. Nice beer. Underrated IMO.

Gold, white head. Aroma of malts and grains/bread. Taste: lightly fruity, sweet, leading to a bitter hoppy end. Nice bock.

Vaguely hazy gold. Nose sweet and malty, some yeast and apple. Flavor starts of very sugary, a bit overly so. Finishes with hop bitterness. Starts a bit too sugary, finishes a bit too hoppy.

Bottle, from Café Abseits in Bamberg. Gold, good white head and moderate condition. Solid sweet malt and fruity hop notes in the nose, full and fruity in the mouth with the malt most dominant. Lingering sweet malt in the finish with a tingle of hop bitterness and some retronasal alcohol.

Draught and bottle notes: Light, buttered toast, malt nose. Off white fluffy head. Sweet, chewy malts, bready, medium body, with assertive, earthy, bitter hops through the finish. The bottles floating around are a little old I think. Check the dates and bottle codes. On draught, or fresh bottles, this is quite nice, well balanced, and highly quaffable bock.

Golden, with a big fluffy head. Touch of honey in the aroma, whiff of lemon as well, not overly sweet or malty in the aroma. Nice soft maltiness, not overly sweet or sticky. 6.5% is well hidden here. Nice bitterness late. I’d like this to be just a touch stickier on the palate, but I’m nitpicking really, as I’m really enjoying drinking it.

Draught at Hagges Bärsklubb, Nynäshamn, Sweden. Golden colour, rich head. Light buttery malt aroma. Fairly sweet, rich and softly malty containing hoppiness that accelerates towards a very bitter finish. A well balanced very enjoyable traditional bock.

Technically ok, but not my style (heller bock). Lots of sweet malts in aroma and flavor and a pretty bitter finish. Clean and boring.
