| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Oct 1, 2008 500 ml bottle purchased at Beertopia in Omaha, Nebraska. 7010 stamped on back of bottle. Pour is mostly clear yellow golden with nice settling and a bunch of carbonation bubbles. Nicely formed 2 inch white head falls slowly revealing thick lacing. Aroma of musty sweetness and baking bread. Some sweet fruit - plums maybe? Flavor is chemical straw sweetness, a bit tangy and not entirely pleasant. Behind that is some nice bitterness, grassiness and cloves. The initial sweetness settles down as it warms, turning more towards the fruit sweetness of the nose, and some honey. . There is something a little ear waxy that sticks around for this one. Palate is on the thin side of medium, slick, with decent carbonation. Easy drinking, with a very brief finish. Overall, there were elements of this beer I wasn’t wild about, but the whole came together more than the sum of its parts. heavy (852), Split, Croatia

Poured golden body with medium sized head. Honey malty aroma, somewhat fruity as well. Flavor is quite simple, sweetish honey malts with some interesting spices. Very pleasant, specially at the sweetish. Alcohol is felt just a little or nothing at all. Nice beer, although I don’t remember so well to compare other heller bocks I had last winter, I think this is among the best. DrDavid (957), Johnson, Vermont, USA

| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Jun 27, 2008 16.9 oz. bottle. Strong, fruity, floral, buttery aroma features white grape juice, apple cider, apple sauce, and apricot scents. Interesting smell, but too juicy. Pours an effesrvescent pale gold with a tornado of bubbles, making it look like champagne or at least a bottle-conditioned beer. This would be a great-looking beer if not for a large amount of unappetizing, suspended particulate. Moderate amount of fluffy, cream-colored head. Produces sporadic lacing. Sweet and simple taste. Alcohol noticable. Yellow plum and bread flavors. Reminiscent of a bad dessert wine. Tastes much as it smells, but not as good. There is too much sweetness for my taste. Hops make their presence felt only in the dry aftertaste and even then only to a small extent. Light to medium body. Easy to drink. A bit undercarbonated. This is not exactly my kind of beer. Head is initially small, frothy/fizzy, white, mostly diminishing.
Body is hazy medium yellow, unfiltered.
Aroma is lightly malty (toasted grain, husks), lightly to moderately hoppy (flowers, herbs), with light notes of DMS and soap.
Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly to moderately bitter.
Finish is lightly sweet, lightly acidic, moderately to heavily bitter, husky.
Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation, lightly to moderately alcoholic.
Not much going on, and rough in the malt department. Previous rating from a draught sample was pretty much the same. Not a very good example of the style.
