Impressive malt and yeast aroma that carries across the table. Sweet, and a bit of wheat in the flavor. Heavier than I expected. A bit tart in the finish. jpm30 (1588), East Central, Georgia, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jan 8, 2007 From a 500 ml. euro bottle with a bottling/freshness date on the back label.
Poured a cloudy golden orange with a foamy white head that settled into a thin sudsy, bubbly lacing.
Aromas of honey bready and toffee, yeasty, light banana and clove, sweet fruity esters, and floral hops.
Steady moderate carbonation and a crisp, slightly slick, dryish, creamy smooth medium bodied mouthfeel.
A nice Maibock/Helles bock taste, honey tea-like, toffee, bready, earthy clove and soft banana, dry spicy, herbal hops with a brisk bitterness, a slight floral alcohol flavor towards the end and a dry yeasty, malty finish with some lingering hoppiness in the palate.
Another quality beer from Mahr’s, one of my favorite German brewers, smooth, easy drinkability.

Double Bubble and pale malt aroma. Overall the flavor has a sweet candy flavor - taffy and sugar under slightly spicy green hops. Meh. 1FastSTi (2569), Glendale, Wisconsin, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Dec 19, 2006 Thanks Jason. The beer pours to a glowing straw colored body with hints of gold in it. Thin white head. The aroma is quite floral/grassy with light hints of butterscotch and honey. The flavor is bitter grassy hops and a light silage malt. Average bitter palate. | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Dec 19, 2006 Clearish gold with a soapy off-white head. Looks fairly nice, but the head is going fast. Grainy sweet malt aromas, kind of plain, but kind of nice too. Slight bubblegummy and grassy hints. Peppery sweet malts dominate the flavor, along with some flowers. I don’t know what it is... I kind of like this for some reason. Maybe its the slight cloying sweetness that somehow strikes my sugartooth nicely. Lacks interesting flavor, but its okay by my book. | 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Dec 19, 2006 visiously carbonated straw coored pour w/ a fluffy white head and some decent lacing. Sweet grainy aroma some light candied sugars and a touch of brown sugar. palate is lightly fluffy and well caoted. Flavor is a bit off lots of grains a bit of cardboard some very sweet sugars and carmels, but just doesn’t taste all that good. SSSteve (2086), Atlanta, Georgia, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Nov 26, 2006 hazy peach color. no head. caramel, mint, grass, butterscotch flavors. the caramel malts are nice but something doesn’t mesh well. BBB63 (4238), La Porte, Indiana, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Sep 29, 2006 Bottle and served in standard pint glass: pours a hazed yellow hue with a fizzy head and little lace. The aroma has notes of heavy caramel and bready malts, dusty yeast esters, a note of honey, and a dash of grassy noble hop. The taste is rather straight forward with overtones of sweet malt, grains and honey backed by a light herbal character. Not a lot of depth except for a interesting peppery finish. The mouth feel is carbonated for sure but there is a sticky note that kept it from become truly refreshing. All in all a very average bier, that ain’t so bad.
