Thick malty aroma that does have a sense of Christmas: nutmeg spices, along with sweet honey cloves and raisin bread. Sharp, spicy flavour with a lingering herbal bitterness. Nicely carbonated plate that delivers that flavours throughout the mouth and helps spread the strange floral hops among the sticky malted grain. You know, I was expecting more interesting flavours than this one offered, but overall it was tolerable. Lubiere (4552), Ottawa, Ontario, Canada

Sweet malt and hoppiness, chocolate notes, esters of bananas and berries. Nice alcohol finish. Crockett (904), Steelback County, Ontario, Canada

| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Dec 7, 2004 Bottle: Poured a light yellow hazy color beer with a nice foamy/bubbly white head. Somewhat paler then expected for a bock or even a Christmas bock in that case. Aroma is comprised of some malt but generally lack of character. Taste is refreshing but again lighter in taste then expected; I can taste some malt but this almost resemble more like a premium lager then a bock. Wow, what a disappointing experience from a usually fine brewery… muzzlehatch (4427), Burlington, Vermont, USA

Hazy light amber with a massive fluffy head...lemon and pale malt in the nose, very very sweet and candyish...fairly thick but a bit too sticky to drink a whole bottle alone...not bad, but not terribly bock-ish or interesting. | 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 7, 2004 Bottle: Pours a straw coloured body with foamy white head which disappears rather quickly. Looke to be heavily carbonated. Aromas of hops and sweet malts. First thing noticed is the bitterness of the hops. Has a wheat/corn taste. Slightly sweet. has watery finish with a lingering bitterness. Was refreshing!!!

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 7, 2004 Pours a yellowish straw coloured body with a white head that was gone in seconds. Aroma was hoppy (cadcade?), grassy, and sweet. Taste was bitter-sweet, wheat, and slight caramel.
Nice bitter bite here but I am not sure this is what I expected.
