Also bread and a hint of citrus. The taste is sweet and bready malts with some hint of smoke and carrots. A strong vegetable note in the taste. A sticky mouthfeel. Overall an ok bock, but nothing I would seek out. beerbuzzmontreal (2917), Montreal, Quebec, Canada
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Dec 5, 2004 Pour a clear golden color with a diminishing white head, the color seems strange for a bock. Simple and ordinary aroma and flavor of malt with a bitter finish. Light to medium body, lively carbonation. Very ordinary. Beer Snob (382), Ontario, Canada

And I liked it - a touch too sweet, but a full flavoured and rich beer. Smells beautiful, tastes sweet and goes down nicely. tupalev (2618), Waterloo, Ontario, Canada
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Dec 1, 2004 Bottle. Orange pour, small short lasting white head. Fresh crisp slightly fruity aroma, with hints of spice. Nice explosion of syrupy sweet malt flavours on first sip, balanced by a perfect crispness. Slightly bitter on the end. One of the more flavourful Bocks I’ve had this year, especially after being rather disappointed with Creemore. I’m a bit against the grain here, but I really enjoyed this one on a chilly Friday night after a long week at work. joeycapps (1466), Waterdown, Ontario, Canada
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Nov 29, 2004 Pours a slightly hazy, pale gold w/ a rocky yellow-white head. Aroma is sweet, malty (crusty), yeasty & flowery. Medium, syrupy feel. Very sweet, malty flavor w/ some honey & butterscotch notes. Finish is also very sweet & medicinal. Alcohol is noticeable. | 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Nov 29, 2004 Flowery fresh hops, light malts, refreshing nose, touch of chamomile herb. Lightly bitter, medium thick malt base, thinner than average bock. Plain, with some bitter character. daboskabouter (1470), Fergus, Ontario, Canada
| 2.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Nov 28, 2004 Slight hazed light golden color with a big frothy white head. Light sweet malt and yeast - fruity and somewhat candyish smelling. The body is smooth and very sweet. Big malt and a thick yeasty sweetness occupy the middle. Finishes rather light with a little touch of bitterness. Way too sweet, and why is a bock so lightly colored? pootzboy (1048), Hawgville, Ontario, Canada
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Nov 22, 2004 Updated: Feb 23, 20051/2 liter Euro-crown top. 6.5% AVB export. Pour shows a slightly hazy gold colored beer (certainly the lightest bock I’ve ever had outside of FAX or Holsten bright bocks)..frothy 1 finger cap that lasts as a 1cm cap...pleasant odor...honey sweetness mingles with musty bready banana-fruit-spice smells. malty sweet spicy banana butter-almond impression ( no it’s not diacetyl...it’s a true butter-almond taste from the alcohols/malts) as the alcohol/hops/yeast tastes mingle on the palate...very malty oily mouthfeel..long sweet bready finish. A very substantial bright strong beer...malty, sweet and musty with Banana-almond tones...not what you would expect from a dark bock.
