hazy gold. malty honey aroma. full bodied and chewy. very malty with flavors of honey and peanuts with an herbal finish. i didn’t notice any interesting christmas perks but it was a decent bock.

On tap at Spuyten Duyvel, Brooklyn...This beer has some interesting "wintery" spices going on in the flavor - and interesting bock beer. It is heavily malted, of course, but it has some very clean flavors to it. It has a strong wheatiness in the flavor as well. Interesting.

Tap - seemed kind of light in color and aroma - almost like a maibock - quite spicy/peppery up front, with notes of apple, some rosewater - bready malt on the back end, with a honey sweetness - well balanced, but still a bit light for the season.

I enjoyed this and feel it’s slightly underrated. Nice hazy orange appearance with a slight brown hue. White head fades. Peppery malt aroma, hint of chocolate in the background. Also has fruity caramel apple wood notes. Nice creamy body. Slightly warming. Bready maltyness with a warming apple cider characteristic. Cinnamon hints, with a touch of peppery honey like notes. Light caramel malt sweetness in the background with a toasted bread, light dry finish. Nice, smooth and balanced.

This is one has got the deep tasting malts and somewhat unpleasant bitter that most beer are into. Taste of Cloves and mild spices are present, yet it lacks something that makes a good Christmas beer really special.

Pours a very pale light orange. Small white head on top with thin sheets of lace coating the glass. Minerals, herbal spice, honey and butter aroma. Flavor is similar to aroma but with some added skunk and metal to the mix. Dry, acidic and boozy finish. I like some Bamberg beers but this isn’t one of them.

Colored like brown sugar or iced tea. A bit of a funk in the nose, plastic-like, a bit of a spoiled veggie smell. Tastes a little old and putrid, but there’s enough of a maple and pancake flavor to hold it up. Still too vegetable-like.
