Commercial Description:
Weisse Bock is an increasingly popular style that is strong and very tasty – with all of the fruity, spicy flavors one expects from a wheat beer, and more – but never too heavy on the palate. This rich, dark, and enthralling Bock is refreshing and drinks so easily that one would never suspect that it weighs in at 7.2% a.b.v. If you appreciate Aventinus, try Der Weisse Bock.

500ml bottle, 8.5% ABV
Dark purple and brown colored body with a thin tan head. Rich, tangy nose of plum, oak wine barrels, scotch, light roast and some candy sweet chocolate malt. Banana yeast esters also very apparent. Taste of lightly charred, sticky bananas and charred wood. Sweet, rich toffee and vanilla and bourbon notes, especially strong in the finish. Very rich, almost boozy for being 8.5%. Very good weizenbock.

Bottle Shared with Hogtown Harry and Blankboy, courtesy of MDS. Cloudy brown, small white head. Nice tar like dark fruit aroma, roast as well. Great taste - roasty, lots of chocolate, and a little alcohol. Very complex and tasty.

Bottle (500ml) shared with HogTownHarry & tupalev -- courtesy of mds. Pours a cloudy brown with dark orange hues, a bit of sediment and a spare diminishing tan head. Very nice aroma of lightly roasted caramel malt, dark fruit, cloves, chocolate, grassy hops and alcohol. Flavour of lightly roasted or lightly burnt caramel, dark fruit, maple syrup, chocolate and spices. Alcohol’s very well hidden in the flavour. Medium bodied, creamy mouthfeel. Delicious, I loved this!

Bottle (500ml). Shared with blankboy and tupalev, bottle courtesy of Shi--- I mean mds. This bottle says 8.5% ABV. Murky deep brick red, average bubbly tan head. Slightly mild aroma of raisins, figs, apple, oily roast mlalt, with hints of coffee and light grassy hops. Tastes of appleseed, raisins and mildly tart currants, roasted chestnut malt, light molasses, bitter hops and moderate alcohol, really opens up nicely as it warms. Somewhat light bodied, slick and slightly flat mouthfeel, sweet up front and bitter in the finish, slightly oily afterlinger. Really fine beer - thanks, Mike!

Bottle: Pours a dark brown with an off white head. Aroma, wheats, grassy notes. Flavor, tart, some wheat, roasty notes, and a little sour, weird. Not that enjoyable.

Pours dark brown with huge tan head that glazes top of the brew. Roasted, sweet dark fruit flavor. Bottled in early part of 2004. Cherry and plum aroma. Thoroughly enjoyed this...I hope I can find it again.
