Poofy off-white beige head. Tart aroma and sour flavor. Way too tart and vinegar-like. This beer spoiled. I’ll have to revisit it when I can get my hands on a fresh bottle. | 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Sep 18, 2006 The aroma has yeast, vinegar, dark fruit, and caramel. The appearance is red/brown with a gigantic head. The flavor is just like the aroma with a strong vinegar element. The palate is thin. I am not that crazy about this one but it does have a nice head. ross (1709), weddington, South Carolina, USA

Pours out a dark brown color, no head at all. Smell is nutty, fruity, wheats, malts, and spicy. Taste is rich and filling. I thought this was a regular bock, but once I poured it I knew otherwise. Pretty easy to drink, didnt really go well with what I chose to eat with it, so Ill just have tea with my corn bread and beans next time.. iowaherkeye (1858), Los Angeles, California, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Aug 21, 2006 16.9 oz bottle, Bottled on 12--that helps. Anywho, pours a dark ruby brown with a large, beige head. Aroma is of raisins, sour cherries, molasses, dust, caramel and toffee, very light banana and yeast. Taste is quite tart with the sour cherries, which, along with some yeast, is the dominant flavor. The banana is very light, some lighter milk chocolate and vanilla. There is some alcohol in there as well. Dry finish. Seeing as this bier was from Bamburg, I was expecting the slightest hint of smoke. Alas, there is none. Medium bodied, high carbonation. These foolios are trying to compare this to Aventinus, and I don’t think it holds a candle to it. harrisoni (6802), Ashford, Kent, England

Some banana esters. This had been hanging around on the table for a bit. It was a bit like a toffee covered banana. Nice.
