So it’s’ the wrong glass style - sue me. Banana aroma. Caramel and chocolate hints there as well. Caramel really comes through in the flavor. Enjoyable but lacks complexity. | 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Aug 7, 2005 Thanks to Tom Baker at heavyweight for this one. Pours a deep amber with a medium beige head. Aroma is similar to aventinus but not nearly as intense. Good amount of banana, fusel alcohols, and some pheonics like clove, but also has that traditional fruity and deep malt backbone. Flavor was a bit of a let-down. Not very complex- bland and watered down a bit. Mouthfeel was also light for the style especially compared to schneider. willblake (2187), Belcamp, Maryland, USA

Subdued banana and rice crispy treat aroma, not much spice, if any. Bit tart, but refreshing, mildly effy. Roasty. Hard beer to figure out. fly (1333), austin, Tejas, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Aug 4, 2005 Remarkably tart. Think that this was provided by the yeast and if perhaps something was beginning to go awry, it was doing so in a beautiful manner. I didn’t get the banana esters and such that I might have expected, but the malt was fine and I trly enjoyed this. Rasins for sure. Maybe it was/is me that’s off kilter, but not a lot I can do about that. And I absolutely love the label art.
