The body was carbonated and cloudy with a brown hue. The nose was lightly malty, spicy and some notes of clove. The flavor was that of caramel with a slight tingly sensation in the mouthfeel as well as creamy and smooth. This was a light-medium bodied beer with sparse lacing. I truly enjoyed this beer and it went very nicely with supper. thedm (3836), Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Dec 19, 2003 This brew poured a very large head of foamy finely sized mostly lasting bubbles that left behind a hazy brown colored softly carbonated body and a good lace. The aroma was very nice with a malt wheat base and a touch of fruit and other notes. The mouthfeel was thick and chewy at the start then smoothens in the finish. It had a mild caramel brown malt and coriander flavor. It was a very nice mix of flavors. More please! SirTom (85), Atlanta, Georgia, USA

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Nov 29, 2003 Dark brown colour, big fluffy off-white creamy head. big roasted malt aroma. The roasted malt comes through in the flavour. Some alcohol emerges too. Reasonably good overall. wnp22 (682), Toronto (Roncesvalles Village), Ontario, Canada

Opaque deep brown colour, sustained tobacco coloured head. Slightly tangy sweet aroma, with a slight hint of malt. Slight weisen banana scent also, but very, very slight. Flavour is very sour. Slight malty / grainy balance, but for the most part very sour. Interesting considering the style profile. jerc (3954), Toronto, Ontario, Canada
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Nov 23, 2003 Pours dark brown with a respectable off white head. Lots of malt in the flavour. Didn't notice the chocolate much. Had a bit of a sour/tart finish to it. Shag (1923), Chattanooga, Tennessee, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Nov 21, 2003 A dark amber appearance with a large head. Aroma is chocolate, grapes, and caramel. Flavor has a slight alcohol flavor with grapes, caramel, chocolate, and raisins. While I believe Schneider Aventinus to be an overrated Weizen Bock, this beer is certainly underrated.
Very nice!
