Commercial Description:
Weisse Bock is an increasingly popular style that is strong and very tasty – with all of the fruity, spicy flavors one expects from a wheat beer, and more – but never too heavy on the palate. This rich, dark, and enthralling Bock is refreshing and drinks so easily that one would never suspect that it weighs in at 7.2% a.b.v. If you appreciate Aventinus, try Der Weisse Bock.

Complex and rich ale. Clove, bannana, toffee, earthy, spicy hops in the nose. Mouthfeel is medium to rich, smooth, no warmth, and the flavor brings caramel and more bannana. The finish is slightly sweet and hoppy.

From a 500 ml bottle purchased at BevMo for $4.49 this poured a cloudy orange to brown with a fat tan head and good lacing. The nose shows mostly ripe fruit. Very smooth and clean mouthfeel. Flavor is again ripe fruit with lots of banana. Finish is slightly sweet but good to the last drop. A very enjoyable beer.

Draft at Redlight Redlight. Pours a dark, plum brown color with a fluffy, light khaki colored head. The foam displays nice retention and leaves some delicate, sticky ribbons of lace on the glass. The aroma is classic weizen bock, notes of dry caramel malts, dark fruits, overly ripe bananas, and cloves working together nicely. Flavors show dehydrated plums and figs intertwined with the dark caramel, with hints of smoked chocolate malts lurking within. Banana and clove again come through quite nicely, with perhaps a hint of vanilla as well. Substantial and creamy on the tongue, with balanced carbonation, it drinks as easy as it is tasty. This is just a classic, well executed brew that is pretty true to style. Very good.

500 ml bottle courtesy of eaglefan538, poured into my .4L Kulmbacher glass. Pour is murky dark brown with orange highlights and an out of control billowing 4 inch tan head. Noisy carbonation crackles away as the head slowly falls. No lacing to speak of. Aroma of brown sugar, vanilla, plum, toast, banana, clove and the wheat. A ton going on in this nose, and really beautifully integrated. Soft, very inviting. Taste has many components of the nose, but mostly brown sugar, banana and wheat. The toasty malt is in the finish and after taste. The aftertaste also has some floral earthiness and honey to it. Taste is not as well integrated as the nose, but is still nice. Palate is medium, a bit syrupy, though still quite drinkable. The ABV is in no way apparent. Thanks for sending this my way, Brian!

On tap at Redlight. Dark brown with a fluffy tan head. Smell is strong with vanilla, bananas, bread and a slight smokiness. Flavor is creamy and complex with a slight bitterness to the vanilla and bananas and malts. Medium mouthfeel.

Slightly smokey, with chocolate and bananas with hints of spices. Pours cloudy amber with a solid off white head. Smokey, chocolate, wheaty, bready, with hints of spicy bavarian yeast, clove with hints of coriander. Hints of coffee and bitter chocolate with bananas. Solid beer! Excellent!

Pours a brown color with a tan head. Aroma is of caramel and toffee malts, and dark fruits. Flavor was about what I expected. Caramel and toffee malts dominate. Slight alcohol warming on the finish but not much at all. Decent but not great.
