Draught at the brauhaus. Hazy orange colour with a big white head. Yeasty, wheat, banana aroma and taste. Medium body with a fresh finish. Good summer beer, I like it.

Bamberger Original Mahr’s Bräu Festtags Weisse produced a beautiful pour. The beer is a hazy reddish orange color, actually it is kind of a brilliant bronze color. It has a very large, dense and creamy head that is a nice ight orange/honey color. The head slowly diminishes to leave a creamy beige crown that lasts until the very end. The aroma is rich wheat with a light banana and clove. The flavor is comprised of toasted wheat malt, banana, some clove and alchol, mellow fruit, and a delicate, almost imperceptible hint of smoke. There is a slightly sour yeastiness in the finish as well as a waming alcohol sensation even though the is beer only has 5.5% ABV. The mouthfeel is smooth and mellow and the body is medium to full. The label says that this is is a 0.5 L bottle, but it doesn’t look that big and interestingly enough, it didn’t fill my 40 cl Stella Artois glass. I was pizzled by this, so I filled the bottle with water and poured it into a measure cup and discovered that is really only about 350 ml (12 oz). Too bad though, I would have enjoyed a larger bottle of this tasty beer! "At least durable to 04 2007."

Tap, at GBBF 2005. Hazy amber, thin white head and moderate condition. Gentle banana fruitiness in the nose, low banana fruitiness and slight chalkiness in the mouth and a low yeasty bitterness in the finish, tempered slightly by a sweet banana note.

I can’t give this beer a strong score for any single aspect, but the beer pulls together in the end. Strong carbonation and a bready, yeasty aroma stand up from the glass. A little thin in the body but plenty of fresh fruity flavors.

12 oz bottle via Malt of the Earth monthly beer club. Pours a hazy amber with a thick but fading off-white head. Wheat, banana and clove nose. Light watery body and light carbonation. The taste is much like the aroma. Dry finish.

Bottle. Pours with a medium brown color and a big head. Aromas of banana, fruit, vanilla. Flavors of apple, banana, bubblegum and bread. Very nice mouthfeel, much richer than a regulalr Weissbier.

12 oz bottle via Malt of the Earth monthly beer club. Pours a very hazy amber with a massive beige head. Nose is wonderful-wheat, bananna, vanilla, apricott, strawberries. Tastes like it smells with some toasty grain as well. Light/medium body. Smooth finish. Balanced. Quaffable. Not crazy about this style but this is one of the better Hefe’s as it is not over-carbonated and not over clovey/banannaish like so many are.

(Bottle 50 cl) Hazy, amber golden with a tal, handsome and very stable, off-white head. Aroma of caramel, yeast and banana. Medium body, sweetish malty notes with flavours of yeast and caramel. Dry - but not bitter - finish. A very decent Hefe. 071106
