bierkoning (5128), La Tropica, Netherlands Sep 23, 2003 Very dark colored, especially for a Märzen. Thick creamy head. Malty aroma with tropical fruit (especially mango and apricot), also tropical fruit in the flavor. Lots of licorice and some roasted malt. Medium bodied. Toasty and fruity aftertaste. diabel (1213), Aarschot, Belgium Aug 1, 2006 At the brewery tap Off-white to lighty brown head which is a mixture of a creamy and a rocky head. Excellent lace. The head lasts mostly. Clear, deep brown (deep caramel) body. Aroma of malts (cookie, straw, light caramel), flowers, vanilla. Lightly seet, lightly bitter initial flavour. Moderately bitter finish. The heavy malts are appearing in the flavour in the end. So, the flavour is quite complex with some spices. Lightly bodied. Fizzy carbonation. TheGrandMaster (1617), Auckland, New Zealand Oct 3, 2006 Bottle at the brewery, brown with a slightly tan head. A strong earthy malt aroma. A great light, but smooth, mouthfeel with fruity malt flavours and a lingering moreish aftertaste. fonefan (6078), Ulfborg, Denmark Aug 11, 2006 Updated: Sep 27, 2006Bottle. Very dark color, Thick creamy head. Malty aroma with some (tropical) fruit, ( mango ?? ). Sweet fruity malt initially in the mouth. Medium bodied. Toasty and fruity aftertaste. maeib (4141), Wootton, Northampton, Northamptonshire, England Nov 29, 2006 Bottled. A chestnut brown coloured beer with no head at all. The aroma is malty and fruity. It is a bit woody also. The taste is malty and has raisin fruit notes together with some sugary caramel and chocolate notes. A good body and lots of flavour. A nice beer.
