Light sweet grainy and strawy nose with a shy grassy hoppy touch. Soft sweet and slightly bitter flavour, light to medium body, moderately carbonation. Grainy, minimal fruity taste; light bitter finish with a hoppy shade. Sammy (4057), Toronto, Ontario, Canada
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Aug 3, 2006 Light yellow with bubbly head. Lace left on the glass. Floral and malty aroma. Very drinkable thirst quencher though on bitter side and smoothly malted and carbonated, light bodied. Interesting for a lager diabel (1372), Aarschot, Belgium
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Aug 1, 2006 At the brewery tap. White, creany head. Clear, golden body. Nose of hops (flowers, perfume). Lightly sweet, moderately bitter initial flavour. Moderately bitter finish. Lightly bodied. Drinks pleasantly, but nothing special. eaglefan538 (2401), Wilmington, Delaware, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jul 27, 2006 Poured a golden clear yellow color with a weak initial head and very little lacing. Aroma was earthy, light, some herbal notes. The flavor was herbal hops, light grass, bitter, maybe a malty bitterness? Or was it hops? Mouthfeel was grainy, flat, dry, somewhat bitter. Not overly done on the malt side of things, that’s for sure. DocLock (4648), Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jun 24, 2006 Draft at the Drafting Room Exton. Pale gold pour with some hopcitric and pale malty aromas, with a bit of lemongrassy grain. The palate is medium to light, with some hopcitrus and pale malts but not much else. I’m not sure why, but the DRE was only serving this one in 10 ounce mugs? whaleman (2171), North Wales, Pennsylvania, USA
| 2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Jun 8, 2006 Golden straw body with an ominous haze and a minimal, slightly filmy white head. Strong pils malt aroma plus notes of green apple and corn. Flavor is corny and honey sweet. Tastes like a generic ice beer. This is obviously a generically-produced lager. For some reason, I expected more, but this makes two big strikes with this brewery. harlequinn (2745), Tacoma, Washington, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | May 19, 2006 I found this to be very enjoyable. Aroma is full of grass clippings, and fruit. Some grainey maltiness, fruit, and some soapy hoppiness. Clean but a bit chalky on the finish. muzzlehatch (4427), Burlington, Vermont, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Feb 20, 2006 500 ml bottle from Table & Vine, Northampton MA (Feb 2006), served at a bit below cellar temp in a 12 oz Michelob glass. I haven’t had the best of luck with Mahrs Bräu beers, but what the heck I like their labels, so here goes: it pours a faintly hazy, bubbly gold, the moderate head dies quickly to a centimeter or so then dissipates quite slowly, leaving a touch of lace....earthy aroma is evident immediately from a few feet away, a bit of soapiness as well, alas, but good lightly dried grasses help out and it’s a reasonably pleasant light overall scent....slight bitterness throughout, dry woody-grassy hops are an undercurrent to the modestly sweet earthy body, with hints of baked apples and caramel, very slight and sublte....carbonation is light and tingly, mouthfeel supple but just a touch oily...thins out quite a bit at the finish. The bottle is dated, unfortunately the last number is a bit smudged, at first it looked like "10.06.05", fine but now I’m thinking it’s "10.06.03". If the former it’s aged rapidly; if the latter it has held up remarkably well and a fresh bottle would probably be excellent.
