Pours near black with some reddish hues and mostly receding light tan head. Aroma of dark malts, light chocolate, light toasted malts. Taste is dark malts, light chocolate, bready munich, raisins. Mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with lively carbonation. Very enjoyable dunkel.

Bottle from BevMo. Loud pop upon opening. Dark maroon in color. Large brown head. Sweet chocolate aroma. Some roasted coffee as well. Thin mouthfeel. Some burnt coffee bitterness seems to dominate. Not to sweet. Good sessionable dunkel.

Not much pop upon opening and sure enough hardly any carbo. A mean dump still yields naught for head. Dark brown body. The aroma shows milk chocolate, light toffee and a hint of nuts. Soft body. Very low kellerbier-type carobonation. Chewy light toffeeish malts. Some earthiness shows through and just a hint of chocolate. Very smooth and drinkable, if a bit watery.

Cool swing-top bottle. Dark but clear brown with a big tan head. Molasses, malt, and smoke. Not so much smoke in the taste, but lots of malt, cocoa, and earthiness. Lighter than expected mouthfeel. Dry finish.

Pours darkbrown with a thin but lasting light brown head. Flavor has lots of brown sugar, mollasses and roasted malt. Little bitterness.

I believe this is my first dunkel, so I really do not know what to compare it to. Very German/import aroma hard to describe. Appearance is really cool, dark with a very contrasting white head. Flavor, taste, palate once again difficult to describe, but interesting. Kind of tastes like beef broth. A neat expirience.

Pours deep chocolate brown with fluffy tan head. Nose is a touch of soy, and smoke from a BBQ? Flavor is malty, nutty, a little sugary, and quite a bit smokey. Dry clean finish is nice, but not a style or beer I would frequetly buy. (What the heck is a Dunkel?!)

Bottle. Mahogony/dark ruby color with a tan head. Smokey, earthy, malt aroma. Flavor is lighter than expected - smoke, malt, caramel, earth - with a bit of acidity and very slight metallic, Lighter than expected body. Dusty, earthy, malt lingers with a bit of acididty. Needs more oomph.
