Earthy malt and hop flavour, a bit too fizzy for my taste. Pleasant long bitterness. Skinnyviking (4192), Copenhagen, Denmark
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Jul 8, 2007 Draught. Low white but lasting head. Body: Well the beer was served in an earthern jar so actually I could not see and judge it. Weak fruity and hoppy aroma. Mild and yet hoppy flavor with low carbonation and a long hops aftertaste. luvcasks (178), USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jun 16, 2007 Hazy golden with some orange highlights and nice white head which dissipates to a thin ring....
Aroma: Slightly perfumy hop with malts and some fruity esters
Taste: First impression is clean spritzy light refreshing with a long dry spicy earthy hop flavor...
Other notes of slight tang, sweet base malt and firm hop bite... some indistinguishable fruitiness is there
The bottle was abused by lost baggage and I can detect some oxidation from the heat :(
Overall: The lager world’s best kept secret.... incredible... an ale and lager at the same time the lost world of keller beers... ale like flavors from lagers
Thanks to Mahrs for keeping this alive. I had a chance to try this on Tap at Toronado... an absolute treat tenghave (402), Taastrup, Denmark

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | May 24, 2007 Updated: Oct 19, 2009500mL bottle with a ton of yeast at the bottom... woohoo!! Murky golden yellow soft colored body. Sourdough and rye nose, husky yeast and some sour orange peel scents. Crisp and fresh tasting, a bit slick over the middle. Sweaty and fruity and grainy, all working togethor really well... the yeast feels and tastes just amazing... creamy and zesty, lightly bitter hops show up but they aren’t fruity or dank at all, more muddled but in a good way. Sits between a semi-sour wheat or lager and a fruit but grainy alt or something. Very good, very different and if this is what unfiltered lager is like then I am a fan. porterhouse (1164), Alna, Maine, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | May 19, 2007 (500 ml bottle ("bottled on 5 0 22") from <A HREF=http://www.ratebeer.com/Place/maine/portland/ target=blank>Downeast Beverage Co.) Pretty nice but would probably be much better really fresh...Pours hazy amberish gold with three fingers of off-white head. Aroma is honeyish malt and as head recedes there is pine. Mouthfeel is medium-full, fairly smooth. Nice webby lacing. Flavor is light caramel and honeyish sweetness overlain with light pine. Light sourish or off-note kind of messes with the taste a bit. Light bitter hit in finish. Not too unlike their Bockbier but this is weaker. harrisoni (6947), Ashford, Kent, England

Gold/copper hazy with thin white head. Bit of pukey sickly malt on aroma. It’s a toffeeish lager with decent hop on finish. Very toffeeish, but fine.
