| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Oct 10, 2005 No head, dark golden with a slight haze. Apricots, hops in the aroma but a little bit of skunkiness too. Taste is nutty and spicy with hints of sugary fruits. Funky bitterness, leads into a dry finish. Unpleasent butteriness, I’m guessing this might be diacetyl? Off. JorisPPattyn (5174), Antwerpen, Belgium
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Sep 20, 2005 Draught Served in Stein ; good creamy, just off-white head. Diacethyl, banana, and some white mushroom-like aroma. Diacethyl predominant in the taste. Disgrace, as in Maisels own brewery tap, one should expect better - and I’ve had it way better. There’s an orangey-citrussy background with shy malts and equally shy hops, all molested by the diacethyl. Medium bodied. Too much sweetness in the aftertaste. As said this "Probe" was off. It might need a rerating, but later that same day, we had another try elsewhere, and again diacethyl ruined the lot, if not as outspoken. And this at the brewery, for crying out loud. fluids (364), USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Sep 17, 2005 Goldish color with large head. Interesting sweet malt smooth taste. It reminded me of some rye malt beers. The hops are very signature and distinctive with this beer. Kind of licorish grainy. TBone (6790), Pori, Finland

Golden color, small creamy white head, lace. Yeasty, wheat bread nose with lemony hoppy notes. Yeasty, bready, medium-bodied. After dominating sweet yeastness, flavor turns to nicely hoppy. This stuff propably does not travel very well. TAR (2093), Boulder Co., Colorado, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 10/20 | Sep 1, 2005 Draft: Yellow gold. Large soapy white bubbles quickly collapse. Honeyed apples, toasted crackers, dried bananas, and dusty malt aromas. Slick but fairly spritzy and hard. Initially dry and mineral heavy. Odd honeyed apple fruitiness, but chalky, too. Overly firm feel disallows the gentler malt notes from blossoming. Anise-tinged hop spiciness prickles the tongue lightly, but the supportive/juicy hop flavors are nowhere to be found. Flash of huskiness is outweighed by toasted dough, which lends more dryness. Finishes with a grainy-woody brush of dryness, but both oversweet and poorly attenuated, as honeyed apples and trace toastiness linger. For a style which not only has limitless potential, but is criminally underappreciated and overlooked, as well, this was such a letdown. The malt profile is underdeveloped/completely unfocused due to the sweetness and peculiar fruitiness, and it sorely lacks hop brightness. joergen (8610), Frederiksberg, Denmark

Amber coloured with a white head.
Aroma of yeast, malts and fruits with notes of hops.
Flavour of malts and fruits with notes of yeast, hops and overriped fruits.
The yeast is too dominating. SledgeJr (2961), Omaha, Nebraska, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Aug 22, 2005 In the 0.5L bottle at the Huber Haus. Unfiltered. Yeast cloudiness. Aroma of maly, yeast, and sweet honey. Rich gold to orange in color. Flavor does not match the aroma. A crisp clean finish is surprising. The appearance is the best part of this beer. There’s a late sweetness at the finish. Toffee caramel smell. Looks like a dog peed in the snow. A town of 10 breweries and 10,000 people. Hmmm.
