Commercial Description:
Mahr’s Brau Ungespundet Hefetrub It pours with a big, creamy, long-lasting, head; has a golden-bronze color; a wonderfully fresh, perfumy; hop aroma; a remarkably smooth, almost oily, malty, palate; very fresh flavours; and a spritzy finish. It is beautifully balanced, but leans to the dry side. This is a delicious, appetising beer and a true taste of Germany’s fast-vanishing artisanal tradition.

A hazy orange beer with a small head. The aroma yeasty - as if it has been warm fermented. The flavor is dry wheaty combined with a slight acidity and notes of citrus, leading to a very dry end. Somewhat boring.

(Bottle 50 cl) Slightly hazy, pale amber. Small, rough head. Some rustic malty notes and a lightly smoked nose. Slight tartness and again this rustic impression - almost Refsvindinge-style. A bit watery and rather unusual - in a good way. 300605

50 cL bottle, trade with Maria. Pours almost clear and golden orange with a dense, creamy and slight off-white head. Aroma is mild spiced and malty. Light breadish malt flavour with a lurking bitterness and mild spice note. Holds a nice caramel flavour in addition. Ends mild caramel malt spiced and light bitter. Smooth balance.

Draught @ Mahrs, Bamberg. Hazy golden color with a small white head. Full malts with hints of earthy caramel and earthy herbal hops balance the full but not sweet malts. Very good.

Bottled. Amber coloured with a white head. Aroma of yeast, malts and fruits with notes of hops. Flavour of malts and fruits with notes of yeast, hops and overriped fruits. The yeast is too dominating.
