thornecb (1290), Marblehead, Massachusetts, USA Aug 24, 2008 Pours bright gold into a stein. Bright white head with excellent retention leaves no lacing as it recedes to coat surface. Malt aromas. Crisp and slightly bitter from front to finish. Clean and dry. Sour aftertaste. henrikb (1180), Aarhus, Denmark Aug 24, 2008 Pale golden body, lots of sparkle, fluffy lasting white head; Amazing deep deep nose, spicy fresh with everything welcoming you, malt, hop and yeast, GREAT; Incredible body, big bubbled carbonation, bitting malt and hop bitter, super complex and very very well balanced; Super balanced lasting forever finish, bitterness from both malt and hop, spicy malt and green hop aromas, doughy yeast, but everything is so very very well balanced and composed. Heads up and hats of this beer is F..... amazing!!! DSG (1020), Yuvalim, Israel Aug 9, 2008 (6/31/08) Bottle at the brewpub in Bamberg. Pale yellow with a collapsing white head. Aroma of grainy malt. A quite grainy flavor with some light bitter hoppiness in the finish. Light-bodied. Cletus (3602), Connecticut, USA Jul 30, 2008 Pours yellow with a nice white head. Smells of sweet malt, apples, honey, touches of pepper. Tastes crisp and dry with some decent fruity hints. porterhouse (1016), Alna, Maine, USA Jul 11, 2008 (500 ml bottle from Tully’s) Pours pale yellow with a slight haze. Two fingers of Marshmallow-Fluff-like white head. Aroma of fairly pungent honey, light bread and light pine. Mouthfeel is pretty smooth, although thin. Dryish esp. towards finish. Some broken rings of lacing. Flavor is fairly sweet and malty, mostly honeyish. Very light bready taste. A bit of pine towards finish which closes it out. Actually could feel a bit of the alcohol in this one, as I’d think the 2.8% is higher than most LA’s. Overall decent but a bit watery and timid.
