Poured a clear pale yellowish golden with a foamy white head that settled into a thin lacing.
Light aromas of grain husks, sweet malts and yeast.
Moderate carbonation and a crisp, dry and smooth medium bodied mouthfeel.
A light beer with an actual taste that doesn’t have corn or rice in it, toasted grain and sweet, sugary malts, spicy and lemon grassy hops, a nice, cleansing bitterness and a dry grassy and malty finish, quite quaffable, easy drinkability.
A crisp and refreshing light beer, would great to have at lunch before you return to work.

| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Sep 7, 2006 Bottle. Small whte head that ended up mostly diminishing, lackluste lacing, transparent, carbonation, and a pale yellow hue. Light hops, mild malt and a floral nose. Flavor was bitter hops, astringent, a touch sweet tasting, and lightly bitter. Tingly, thin and water mouthfeel. Light body. omhper (12224), Stockholm, Sweden
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Aug 28, 2006 [Bottled at Oliver Twist, Stockholm] Pale yellow, firm fluffy head. There are notes of paper and raisins behind the curtain of grassy hops in the aroma. Very dry with pleasantly crisp mouthfeel. Expectedly the boy is very light, but it is not watery. It is finished off with aggresively grassy, bitter hops. Imagine a LA with 30 IBU! SpringsLicker (2043), Tennessee, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jul 31, 2006 Pours a pale yellow with a decent white head.
Faint malt aroma with little or no hops.
Lightly sweet, thin and watery as I expected. I’ve had much worse, but this isn’t really beer. eaglefan538 (2364), Wilmington, Delaware, USA
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Jul 27, 2006 A little rough, although not too bad for a reduced alcohol version of a beer. Pilsner-like, some grass hops, some astringent and/or unfermented malts. Appearance was weak, an ok initial head, but short-lived. Boring after a while. Relative to other beers with this little presence of alcohol, this didn’t do too badly. However, I want more than this in my beer. Pigfoot (2226), Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA
| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Jun 28, 2006 Very clear, very faded yellowy color, almost like a pear skin gone pale in the sunlight...with a pleasing snow-white head, brief in appearance, leaving light lace.
Faint aroma, citrusy, but inoffensive.
Taste: not much here. Bit harsh on the palate, actually, but the key character component is "lightness". Fusses little with flavor. Zips in and out of the tastebuds, doing it’s job well, and that job is getting your mouth wet.
As I drink on, though, what does stand in for taste becomes increasingly hard to take. Lingers too long in the back of the throat, and there’s not enough good flavor to counter the ill effects of the wan, bitter badness that is there.
$3.50 not well spent. When will I learn? luckygirl (1221), Boulder, Colorado, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 4, 2006 Bottled. Beer is lightly hazy, light yellow with an average-sized, frothy, white, mostly lasting head. Aroma is soft and pretty: Malty with a light note of toasted grain; Hoppy with light floral/honeysuckle, green grass and straw notes; Yeasty with a trace of dough. The flavor is lightly sweet, lightly-to-moderately bitter with a long, moderately acidic, moderately bitter, lightly sweet finish. The body is light, the texture is watery and the carbonation is a bit more lively than lively. Right to style and refreshing. Ernest (4487), Boulder, Colorado, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jun 4, 2006 Bottle.
Head is initially small, frothy, white, mostly diminishing.
Body is medium yellow.
Aroma is lightly malty (toasted grain), lightly to moderately hoppy (flowers/honey).
Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly bitter.
Finish is lightly sweet, lightly to moderately bitter.
Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation.
One of the best sub-3.0% ABV beers I’ve had, actually. Even full-alc Helles are rarely this good. The funny part is I’m not a very big fan of Mahr’s, for the most part...the Jubelfest is cool, but I haven’t had anything else that’s impressed. But this does. I expected crap but got a snoot full of Hallertauer and toasty malt. Very good stuff, and unfortunately doomed to be underrated.
