There’s some estery banana, but not as much as many German wheat beers. The flavour is more centred on lemony citric notes. Very refreshing. Some slight chemical/solvent hints on the finish knock it down a bit, but still a pretty decent beer. Draught at GBBF 2004.

Lemony dry palate, tart and tangy, not as many yeasty esters as other German wheats, this ones more lemony and tangy. nickchalk (229), Toronto, Ontario, Canada

As soon as I opened the beer I thought I would get a quick whiff and I sucked a good portion of it up my nose. Well about half the bottle ended up on me and the floor and in my nose. Well that’s the last time I stick my nose to a bottle like that! Well now to the other half of the beer. Appearance is murky yellow with a massive head. Nice aroma of lemons and bananas. The flavor is slightly spicy with a citrus fruit kick. A rather boring watery palate. Not a whole bunch of depth to this beer but a good hot weather wheat. Tessic (473), Brantford, Ontario, Canada
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Aug 11, 2004 This Weisse pours a cloudy yellow colour with a bright white foamy head. Scents typical of a wheat beer, yeasty with some fruit notes. First taste was very good. Initial taste was that of yeast with a small amount of cloves thrown in. Good carbonation. The finish was nice that it didn’t have a over taste of yeast like some other wheat beers I’ve had have. The palate was some what clean with lingering flavours of fruit and cloves. All around good wheat! Joeh (1908), Buckinghamshire, England
