Light honey golden color, and a bit clearer than expected, all with a tight, thick head topping it off. A bit more malty on the nose than other weissens I’ve had lately. Quite hoppier, also. Nice and mouthfilling, with the classic wheat/ banana thing going on, but there are a lot of hops too. Almost to the point of the citrus being overwhelming. Lots of creamy banana in the finish, but the hops never really let up. Either a bit out of balance or a nice change of pace, depending on what kind of mood you’re in.

10 years ago, this would have been amongst the best beers available in Toronto. But with the blessed rise of craft and micro-brewing as well as the slight relaxation of importaing laws, this weisse is barely noticeable. Nice and cloudy with a medium head. Smells good - typical spiced citrus nose with, so help me, a hint of fresh bread. At first taste, there is a burst of spice that fades quickly into a bland void of flavour. It leaves a bit of a stale lingering aftertaste, even though the bottle said it was fresh - so I can only assume that this is the way it’s meant to taste.

Bottle: Poured a light hazy yellow beer with a nice head with standard retention. Aroma is mostly comprised of wheat. Taste is very refreshing with the wheat taking a lot of place. There is a small but discernable taste of water at the end that I would have wish not to taste. Overall, this is a very refreshing wheat beer perfect for those hot summer days.

Pretty much the way I like the weissbiers. For those acutally interested, it is a very light weissbier with adequate carbonation leading to a very good head retention in the first 20 minutes or so of consumption. This is a very balanced weissbier in terms of both aroma with good levels of banana type esters and clove phenolics with the addition of a particularly enjoyable level of wheat tartness. The sample I had is amongst the better bottle weissbiers I have yet had. 4.0 16/06/04

Cloudy dull tan colour with bleached white head - a little uninspiring to look at. Aroma of banana, spice (nutmeg, mainly), and slight tobaccoey smoke phenols. Full body for style - creamy and filling. Spritzy carbonation cuts through this fairly thick presentation. Lots of malt, but it’s well-balanced with herbal hops. Definitely hoppy for the style, though you not overly so like some American wheats. Some tropical fruit esters as well. Sweet, slightly yeasty finish. Well-made, robust wheat beer.

A reasonable if unimpressive wheat. Aromas of clove and banana. The flavour is primarily spicy with a hint of banana. This isn’t bad and it definitely improves as the carbonation leaves.

500ml. Poured a medium body hazy yellow, a little more body than I was expecting from the style. White fluffy head, quickly gone. Nice citrusy aroma. Taste was a little watery, especially considering the extra body, but man, it was refreshing. Very crisp taste, lots of carbonation. This was a nice summer brew, tasted on a very warm day.

Hazy, dark yellow pour with a spritzy, thin white head. Sweet aroma of bubblegum and bananas. Yeasty flavor with a citrusy, tangy back end. Substantive mouthfeel, very full. Makes a good summer refresher. Yeast does not overpower like some Hefes tend to do.
