It is gold and bubbly but rather clear, with a huge, off-white head. The aroma is bread, pear, banana, rather like a cross between a good lager and a total hefewizen aroma. The taste is grain, fruit, banana, pear, apple, again a cross-between lager and more paradigmatic hefeweizen, giving a very nice, well-rounded quality. eczematic (1198), Sydney, Australia

Lots of banana, bubblegum, and fresh bread in the aroma; moderate clove. Cloudy yellow, big, dense white head. Flavor just like the aroma, on the sweet side. Medium-full body, fluffy mouthfeel, moderate-high carbonation. One of the best hefeweizens I had in Bavaria. Braudog (3773), Dayton, Ohio, USA

Tart and active on the palate, but subtlely flavored ... fruit basket/banana, little yeasty muskiness ... nice light weizen. dhurtubise (568), Hamilton, Ontario, Canada
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jun 16, 2004 Pretty much the way I like the weissbiers. For those acutally interested, it is a very light weissbier with adequate carbonation leading to a very good head retention in the first 20 minutes or so of consumption. This is a very balanced weissbier in terms of both aroma with good levels of banana type esters and clove phenolics with the addition of a particularly enjoyable level of wheat tartness. The sample I had is amongst the better bottle weissbiers I have yet had. 4.0 16/06/04 ¾ (4999), Colorado, USA

Nose of fruity bananas, lemon and even some nuts, like banana nut bread. Some mold in the nose as well. Lightly peppery taste, more bananas and lemon and even some sourdough tasted. Very drinkable.
