BigBen2120 (564), Derry, New Hampshire, USA Aug 17, 2008 1pint 9 fl oz brown bottle from The Lighthouse in Manchester. Pours a very cloudy opaque yellow body with a half inch of off-white head. Smells citrussy with banana notes. Tastes lemony with a fair bit of spice, nut, banana. Medium bodied with restrained carbonation. Tasty and complex for sure, but not the most drinkable example of the style. A good hef, but at over 6$ per bottle, this will probably be an occasional treat.
KimJohansen (5208), Copenhagen V, Denmark Dec 25, 2008 Hazy golden with a large white head. Sweet yeasty aroma with quite dominant banana notes. Flavour likewise with a sweet yeasty finish. mpersinger (73), , California, USA Dec 22, 2008 500 ml bottle, pours straw with cushiony white head and steady bubbling. Lemony aroma. Flavor is a tad subtle bubble gum, clove and more banana. Body is a bit thin and feel on the tongue is not nearly what all the bubbles would make you anticipate. Theis (2553), Frederiksberg, Denmark Dec 2, 2008 Draught at ØLbaren - thanks for the taste Laïla. Cloudy yellow - white head. High rotten banana, wheaty, citrus, candy, sweetness, yeasty. Unpleasant. Snojerk321 (1153), San Diego, California, USA Oct 29, 2008 Bottle. Pours a hazy pale yellow with a fizzy white head that dissipated quickly. Nose of lemon peel, banana, yeast and bread. Flavor was lightly sweet with some citrus and yeast. pivnizub (4181), Porúří, Germany Oct 8, 2008 Bottle: Hazy, deep golden, small, slowly diminishing loose off-white head; ripe sweet bananas, accompanied by dusty wheat in the nose; sweet flavour, light to medium bodied; the acidity increases in the fruity-sweetish finish, almost no tartness detectable. Decent Hefeweizen, a bit monotonous and sweet....
