Commercial Description:
This Belgian Abbey Style is a strong brew with slight spice, or phenolic aroma and a light golden color. It was awarded a Bronze Medal at the 1999 California State Fair and has found a large following at Main Street Brewery. We suggest you sip this one and Beware.

This has all the makings of a great Belgian classic but with some home brew styled roughness around the edges. I don’t say that to be critical because I think the beer is outstanding. Looks like an apricot, with a decent foam at first although that quickly disappears. Great spice and fruit in the aroma that also comes through on the palate. Initially sweet, enough so that my wife liked it, but with a nice hoppy spicy finish a la Piraat. Seems a little out of sorts in a couple of places, but an excellent beer.

Tasted at the 2004 Pizza Port Strong Ale Fest. Light orange gold color. Small head. Aroma is fruit, sweet and citrus. A medium bodied tripel. Malts are fruity and sweet. Apricots and pears. Light and refreshing. Yeasts are crisp and only slightly estery. Nicely balanced. Very smooth. Clean finish. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly sweet.

On tap at Mainstreet. Clear yellow amber with fluffy white head. Aroma of banana, honey, yeast, and some citrus notes. Taste of banana, citrus, and yeast, with a sweet finish.
