First of all, this beer has obviously improved much since the first reviews- this is a solid and drinkable IPA.
Cloudy burnt-orange with nice thick off-white head that laces down the glass.
Sweet smells of light malts underneath big citrus (lemon zest) and piney hops. Touch of aspirin.
Citrus hop bomb. Slightly dusty and dank hoppy flavors, grapefruit, citrus zest. Slightly astringent aspirin quality to the finish, but not overly offensive.
Smooth medium body lends a substantial mouthfeel. Pretty drinkable. troopie (876), USA

Has some nice balanced, a bit sweeter maltiness than I was hoping for, but the hops make up for it finish up into a clean dry bitter finish. Sham (1846), Seattle, Washington, USA

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Aug 9, 2004 Medium amber-red. Medium body. Moderate carbonation. Malts were dry and biscuity; very subtle sweetness. Hops were grassy, grapefruity, piney, and flowery. Nice and equal amounts of hop flavor, aroma, and bitterness. Balanced IPA. Pretty good.
