Plastic and iodine flavor - I don’t taste malt or hops. Bought this in Feb so don’t know if this has been sitting around since the summer - can’t stomach this, it’s going down the drain. porterhouse (1154), Alna, Maine, USA

Gigantic foam pour. Cap opens with big pffffffttt!!! 99% of first pour was white foam. Foam oozes out of bottle as it takes about 15 minutes to decant a 12 oz. bottle with all the foam. Cloudy gold-yellow body. Aroma is sour, citrusy, iodine and yeast. Mouthfeel extremely prickly. Taste is citrusy, iodine, Band-Aid and yeast. Another "masterpiece" from Maine Coast. These guys have some real issues going on with their product but they don’t seem to want to hear about it. MartinT (5055), Montreal, Quebec, Canada

-Enormous foam covers the clear blond à la Belgian saison.
-Faint citrus is perceived in the aroma, and a distant iodine phantom.
-Herbal hops are met an iodine mess, this is truly horrific and disgusting.
-The frothy carbonation and lean maltiness create a competent body for a would-be blond ale.
What if you dig deeper?
-Do I have to? You’re cruel.
-Important herbal hop bitterness almost topples the iodine monstrosity.
-If properly delivered, this would’ve been a very decent blond ale, but as is, it should hastily be taken off the shelves.
Bottle; no date! jimhilt (1676), Bow, New Hampshire, USA
| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 3/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Sep 15, 2005 Pours a white, three-finger head that goes quickly and leaves traces of lace. Clear amber color. Light carbonation and medium bodied. Musty hoppy nose. Starts with some bite, I agree with other reviewers this has a sour, corky taste; still a clean finish. Nothing like any blonde I have had. $1.83 for a 12oz bottle from Maine Coast Brewery Bar Harbor, Me. ClarkVV (3578), Allston, Massachusetts, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Aug 23, 2005 On draught at the brewpub 8/14/2005. The very low gravity of this beer, and relative low hoppiness did not help fight off the corky, sour, acidic yeast. At least the oatmeal stout had some roast to fight it off, the precipice, some hops, and the blueberry just seemed dry. But this one just gets clobbered and after about 2 sips, the yeast has completely taken over. I will say, the malt is ok in these beers, and this one, especially for a golden is not poorly malted by any means. Same golden color as the precipice, though with a little bit less rusty-tinged notes to it. Smells like a hint of toasted grains and then all cork. A bit watery, hard to finish. I really wish I knew what was going on with this brewery and its strange, to put it lightly, yeast. ruggedman (619), Portland, Maine, USA
