(Bottle from the brewery) Pours fairly hazy orangish-amber with about 1 1/2" of off-white head that recedes to about 1/8". Aroma kind of non-descript, just smells like plain old malt and hops. Mouthfeel a little watery, kind of harsh probably due to lots of carbonation. No real lacing. Flavor is pretty much pine resin with somewhat of a bitter aftertaste. Not very good.

bottle- coolest label ive ever seen especially since ive actually hiked the trail many times but this brew just isnt done right-dont know what it is but its ultra carbonated and very metallic you cant even pour the whole thing into the glass before a monster head comes up-i taste a good APA in the background but something is seriously wrong-i hope they figure it out soon because all of their bottles have a similar problem.

Explodes out of bottle and pours a five+ finger head that goes quickly and leaves some lace. Nearly clear amber color. Light carbonation and medium bodied. Bitter hoppy nose. Starts sweet becoming sweet and hoppy with little aftertaste. Better than their Gold. $1.83 for a 12oz bottle from Maine Coast Brewery Bar Harbor, Me.

On draught at the brewery, 8/14/2005. Golden-copper-orange. One finger of off-white head that is retaine well. Aroma smells of earthy, dry, old white bread, coppery, metallic hops and light sugariness. Tastes of dry hops, bitter and heavily floral. Light acid to begin and here comes that corkiness. Good lacing though. Some light caramel for about a third of the pint and then all yeast. These beers need more malt sweetness. It actually gets heavily fatiguing, this corky, yeasty sourness. Wish I could have talked to the brewers. Sort of tastes like dry leaves, rusty water, and straight up b-vitamin rich yeast. Moderate carbonation, thick mouthfeel.

Cloudy golden color with a thick frothy white head. Aroma of yeast and spices (????). The flavor feels thoroughly infected, yuck.

This beer has been revised I was told at the brewery. They’ve added more hop taste and aroma. Now this is a very good pale. Solid as they come, if you’ve had it before this summer I’d beg you to try it again.

First of the three beers I had at the brewery in Bar Harbor, tasted decent but was not typical in an ale flavour. Very little hops.

The beer pours a lightly foggy deep amber or copper color with the head portly in size, frothy in texture and a winsome light tan in color, lace a fine sheet to seal off the glass. Sweet malt dominates the nose, fresh and crisp, start is lightly sweet, fair to middling malt presence, top middling in feel. Finish is prickly in its acidity, the hops benign, very dry aftertaste, quite drinkable and a fine session beer if one were lucky enough to have it readily available.
