omhper (11027), Stockholm, Sweden Aug 9, 2008 Draught at the brewpub. Clear dark amber, rich creamy head. Toasty malt aroma. Aromatic caramelly and somewhat burnt malt dominates. Above medium bodied with solid mouthfeel. Not really soft, but without edges. Finishes with long but never assaulting bitterness. MoritzF (4046), Ruhrpott, Germany Dec 24, 2007 (draught at the brewpub, while having had an excellent Sauerbraten with a giant dumpling and red cabbage for 6.50 Euros) Almost clear, amber coloured hue with a mid-sized, slightly off-white foamy head. Sweet and slightly toasty malt aroma with light notes of caramel and herbal hops. Bitter-sweet flavour, light to medium bodied with a soft carbonation. Slightly toasted malty taste with light notes of caramel and a distinctive herbal bitterness, getting a bit stronger towards the malt-accented finish with caramel in the aftertaste. Not overly exciting but clean and rounded (half-)dark Landbier. Although it is officially called a Märzen it hasn´t got Märzen strength (only 11.5° Plato). jbrus (4350), Delft, Netherlands Jul 12, 2003 Light caramel and light hoppy aroma. Amber/brown color, beige head, good lace. Sweet, malty, hints of chocolat, light roasted. A little bitterness in the finish. Great brew. But it's hard to be objective sitting in the sun, having this beer and a great meal (a 300 gramms schnitzel, a salat and a potato salat) for just about $7.50.
