omhper (10728), Stockholm, Sweden Aug 10, 2008 Draught in Veilbronn. Clear golden, small head. Fruity phenolic nose. Sweet and medium bodied with notes of vegetables. Medium bodied with bold mouthfeel and too much sweetness. Low bitterness. With it’s lack of harmony it feels very un-Frankisch. Maria (4433), Thisted, Denmark Jul 9, 2008 Warm golden with an OK head. The aroma has notes of malt and flower. The flavour is mild, smooth and pleasant. It has notes of malt, fruit, flower and a light bitterness. It’s charming and very harmonic. WabashMan (746), Noblesville, Indiana, USA Apr 19, 2008 Not bad, exactly, but certainly far from great. This beer pours a medium gold, with a medium white head. Nose is slightly sweet, with some floral and earthy notes and is probably the strongest aspect of the beer. Flavor is ok, but subpar for the style. A little hop bitterness, with some bready flavors. Come summer, these lovely golden brews really hit the spot, and this one was alright, but it doesn’t measure up to even the second tier Helles. Jukkabro (2405), Tampere, Finland Jan 19, 2008 Golden colored, medium sized white head. Aroma is rather sweet with some butter and bitter hops, one could say that decent and basic helles aroma. Thin to medium bodied. Same butter comes up strongly in flavor, hints of some unclean metal and grains can be noticed also. Still fine hops and some sweet fruits last in aftertaste. As I said, decent helles. bonbright7 (157), Huntington, New York, USA Jan 2, 2008 It was an easy to drink and lightly malted beer with a bitter aftertaste that was ok with Chinese food. It’s taste of cream and bread lasted a long time.
