Pub (4112), Banbury, Oxfordshire, England Aug 27, 2008 Bottled, pasteurised, 500ml, from REAL Supermarket, Bamberg. Pale gold with white head, mid carbonation. Light malty Pilsener, quite grainy then with just a light toasty effect. Quite smooth and a touch sweet, it certainly lacks a needed hop punch. Fairly average. omhper (10728), Stockholm, Sweden Aug 10, 2008 Draught in Veilbronn. Clear golden, small head. Buttery nose with some diacetyl. Medium sweet with clean rounded mouthfeel. Notes of grass, but generally lacking in hops. Medium bitterness. The lagerbiers from Maisel seem all to be sub par by Bamberg standards. Maria (4380), Thisted, Denmark May 8, 2008 From Tap in Maisel Keller Bamberg. Golden with a nice head. The aroma has notes of flower, malt and caramel. The flavour has some nice and smooth caramel, malt, grass, grapefruit and other citrus fruits and a refreshing bitterness. It’s a nice pilsner. fonefan (4871), Ulfborg, Denmark Nov 2, 2007 Draught @ Maisel Keller, Bamberg, Germany. Clear light to medium yellow color with a average, frothy / creamy, good lacing, mostly lasting, white head. Aroma is moderate malty, toasted, toffee, butter. Flavor is moderate sweet and light light bitter with a average to short duration. Body is light to medium, texture is watery, carbonation is soft. (171007) Jukkabro (2394), Tampere, Finland Aug 29, 2007 Yellow colored, medium sized white head. Aroma is mildly hopped with slight metallic tone, lemon still good in here with this German-hoppy touch. Medium bodied. Surprisingly sweet-rich flavor with this juicy and fruity tone, still maybe even too sweet to be excellent German-pils. Lemon still in aftertaste. Wonder where hops vanished after fine aroma.
