Smells like a cider with distinct apple notes as well as some caramel. Taste is apples, bitter, bristly hops, caramel and grain. Nearly flat, but not quite. Sticky texture. Medium bodied. Drinkable, but not very pleasant. coyotehunter (551), , Michigan, USA
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 4/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Mar 18, 2009 Aroma of grass and apples. Pours a dirty orange that looks like pee after a day of fishing with only beer to drink. Taste is that of Apple cider, caramel, vinegar, and some malt. Finish is a bit dry and bitter.well, this isnt a favorite style, I can see that right now. 17thfloor (1498), Chicago, Illinois, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Mar 15, 2009 Pours a slightly hazy but still clear rich caramel color with a small white dense froth. Aroma of very grassy hops, hay and slight rich caramel accident by a touch of alcohol. Flavor is pretty dull on the tongue at first, subdued, sweet toasted caramel, lightly bready with light hay and grass, maybe just a tad floral. Finish has a touch of alcohol in it. Very sessionable compared to the 7+ only abv bombs I’ve had ritualistically the past two weeks in Belgium. Medium bodied, watery feel, with fine very sharp carbonation. | 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 14/20 | Mar 11, 2009 Updated: Mar 16, 2009Pours a hazy orange color with a fleeting loose head that almost goes away and leaves a little lace on the glass, but not much. Aroma is malty and somewhat tea like with light roasty notes and a little bit of caramel. Flavor is nice; it has a bright maltiness with some good toasty malt balance, a little fruity with notes of apple. There is a good bitterness akin to that of an English bitter.
Palate is particularly watery. Certainly not the most exemplary of Kellerbiers but enjoyable none the less.

| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Feb 16, 2009 Bottle: Deep orange good clarity with a wispy bubbly off white head. The aroma is dominated by sweet doughy malts giving off some honey, and evident German bready notes with light oxidation. Slick light body. The flavor has a light honey and caramel sweetness with some peppery herbal hop notes toward the back. Clean, yet lightly oxidized. Past it’s prime, but not bad. | 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Feb 14, 2009 Lightly hazed amber color with a small head the actually just settles to a lid of tiny off-white bubbles. Mostly malty aromas with some caramel and toasted grain. A bit of nobel floral hops in the background. LIght malt sweetness in the front. Mild floral hops in the middle. Some acidity makes this quite bright. Buttery malt in the finish and linger. PhillyBeer2112 (2089), Orange Park, Florida, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Feb 14, 2009 Bronze color, barely a hint of a head, lacking effervescence and nearly flat. Spicy grassy hop nose, biscuity malts. Sweetish caramel-toffee, DMS?, lightly bitter finish. A bit dead.
