Apr 23, 2004 After I saw a friend so excited about this beer I thought he was gonna shot his load, I had to try it to see what the fuss was about. Its not easy to find down this part of the world but I wasnt disappointed. A fantastic aroma, great head and a surprisingly dark colour. It may look like a muddy draught but my God it is something special once it tickles your taste buds. Drinking it out of my Maisels glass just topped off a great drinking experience. THATS IT I'M MOVING TO GERMANY :-)

Apr 9, 2004 Ok, so here we got a Maisels Weisse, heard a lot of good thing about this stuff. The appearance is simply beautiful. Just as a weizen should look, hazy orange to golden color with a huge head and lots of tiny bubbles. The aroma is banana, some clove, yeast and some hints of smoke, very nice balanced. Althoug the nice aroma i find it a bit too neutral in flavor, it lacks just a bit more of everything. Has a nice fruityness. A very decent hefeweizen... Got a case to chug through...

Mar 18, 2004 This is the best Weisse beer I have tasted. The flavor for a Hefe Weisse is not overpowering. A nice flavor, color, and smooth.

Mar 1, 2004 Updated: Jan 10, 2006Very good weissbier, in fact one of the best I ever had! Colour is darker than most weissbiers, almost orange. Aroma is malt and fruit, and taste is sweet without beeing too sweet.

Feb 29, 2004 Aroma seemed lacking in the required bubblegum etc, but certainly pleasent enough. Appearance was top notch, with a nice big white head, cloudy brew which was nicely carbonated. Fruity in flavour, far more so than what I would expect for the style. Not a bad beer, but seems unworthy of some of the praise delivered here.

Feb 18, 2004 Wow! Impressive, well balanced beer. The light amber pour proved to have a nice frothy head and was more clear than I expected for a wheat with such a clean finish. Reading a previous review about a "Cola-Weizen" would seem implausable, but this is soooooo smoooth, it could blend with anything and not dominate.

Feb 17, 2004 I thought this was absolutely fabulous. Definitely one of the best wheat beers I have ever had. A dark golden appearance, with a light fizzy head. Appearance is very cloudy. The aroma is spicy, with cinnamon and nutmeg being the predominant flavors. The flavor is very tangy and tart, fruity with lots of banana and clove and bubblegum.

Feb 4, 2004 This was my very first weizen. I purchased a bottle of this at a specialty grocery in Durham NC in 1990. I always pick up a bottle whenever I find it. Very nice balance with a crisp finish and strong wheat character.
