Commercial Description:
In a country with beers named after the Devil, or called "Sudden Death", one called "Misfortune" (Malheur, in French) is just another wry jest. The beer itself is no joke. On the contrary, it is an inspired beer. Malheur is made in a new, revivalist, brewery.

Bottle - 330ml. Beautiful cloudy golden body with yeasty chunks and a thin white foamy/bubbly head. Fresh hoppy aroma with herbal, flowery and citrusy hints. Its sharp hoppy taste carries yeasty, coriander, and honeyish notes. Alcohol is well hidden. Ends with a decent bitter/herbal finish. Enjoyable.

Bottle. Poured a cloudy orangish yellow with a white head. Aroma had notes of orange peel, lemon, yeast and malt. Flavor definitely had some citrus hops as well as some sweet malts.

Bottle. Pours a murky yellow-orange with a white head. Sweet, fresh, faintly tart aroma. Stingy. Flowery notes. Bit of citrus. Malt and grass as it warms. Flavour is sweet and quite perfumy. Yeast notes. Grassy finish with a bit of hops. Too much carbonation. Not bad as such, but I’m not impressed. Could do without the perfumy notes. 14-08-09.

Bottle conditioned, 330ml, from BEERmerchants of Kent. Sl hazed orange gold with white head, chunks of yeast. There is no misfortune with this, it is a sweetish malty Belgian with a touch of spice, probably at the right level for me, and an easy fruitiness. Reasonable hop note in the close, very drinkable.

A hazy golden ale with a thick lacing white head. A pleasant honey and orange pulp in aroma, with lemony character, and yeast. In mouth, a nice hoppy belgian ale, with strawy character, light sweet and mineral notes, a bit of a creamy mouthfeel. Medium bodied. Bieropholie imports. BB 21-09-08.
