jrallen34 (67), Illinois, USA Jul 1, 2009 Drank from 11.2 oz bottle in Brussels.
Very strong odor and flavor.
I’d drink this beer again. TwoDudes (68), Louisville, Kentucky, USA Jun 24, 2009 I like this beer...tree fruit and baking spices could be smelled from 2-3 feet away...good carbonation, very complex...good stuff........................................................................................................................... ogivlado (2870), Zagreb, Croatia Jun 16, 2009 Bottled(330ml). -Murky orange/golden coloured, medium sized white head, spicy light alcoholic nose. Malty, pleasant nutty and spicy taste with notes of coriander and yeast. Alcohol is well hidden. Some sediment at the bottom. Very good beer. Doggythedog (1310), Split, Croatia Jun 13, 2009 Bottle at the Belgian Brasserie Henry, shared with ogivlado. Poured a murky golden body with a medium sized head. Walnut in the nose, malty with some light alcohol. Interesting. The taste is remarkably light for the strength, malty and nutty, notes of coriander and orange. Subtle. Good beer but it didn’t impress me as much as it should have had. TheBeerOrg (1482), Kentucky, USA Jun 13, 2009 Pours golden with a fluffy white head. Aroma of esters and higher alcohols, pineapple, bubble gum and peach. Taste is sweet and fruity, with notes of citrus and candy. Mouthfeel is heavy bodied with lush carbonation and some booziness. Cirrhosis (550), Edmonton, Alberta, Canada Jun 8, 2009 Yellowy beige body with tons of brown sand sized floaties everywhere, a large fluffy white head that had phenomenal retention caped off the brew, don’t know what it is but this color of the beer doesn’t look right. Aroma attacks your nose with a very intense and strong wheat and yeast combo the 10% alcohol was nowhere to be found. This aroma is way too sharp it’s making the brew a little to aggressive smelling for me. Flavor seems to start off very strong and bold but melts away to nothing in the finish. Lots of wheaty malts and hints of unknown spice comprise the flavor, seems a to be a touch sweet for my liking but not out of control. The alcohol can’t be tasted what is pretty good given the 10% however my stomach is getting a very warm feeling half way done the beer. It’s a tasty brew but the flavor is a little too sharp and intense for me I think there are way better beers in this style that I would much rather drink and I think the label looks horribly tacky. Review done while watch UFC." CUJO (63), Brooklyn, New York, USA May 30, 2009 Peculier Pub: CARBONATION!!! 2x as much as I ever want in a beer, actually scrub away the taste way too quickly. Dark golden pour, and despite the carbonation the head disappeared almost immediately. Very sweet, but bad sweet. Like young, sugary fruits. No thanks! Glouglouburp (2573), Montreal, Quebec, Canada May 17, 2009 In short: A very hoppy and crisp Belgian blonde ale.
How: Bottle 750ml. Consumed when almost 1 year of age.
The look: Cloudy blonde body topped by a large persistent white head
In long: A pleasant noble hops nose with lots of dry grass. The body is crisp and a bit too slim. Crisp pale malts with a slightly honeyed crackers sensation. Strong dry grassy hops presence. Meringue, a little lemony. Alcohol is a little apparent from start to finish and that’s too bad. That’s a very clean brew. Gets better in the last third of the bottle when the fluffy yeast provides more body to cover up the alcohol. This is the only brew from the Malheur lineup that shares many characteristics with my personal favourite Malheur Brute but it lacks the depth and finesse of the Brute. I suspect that this is pretty much the same beer as the Malheur Brute except for the champagne yeast/process used for the Malheur Brute. This really is a classic Belgian strong blonde ale, Malheur is not an odd brewery, with their Malheur 4, 6, 8, 10 and 12 they are clearly an even brewery.
