Bottle. Pours a nice golden color with a ton of white head. Aroma is sweet and spicy with a hint of fruit mixed in for good measure. Taste is much of the same but the alcohol takes over a bit. Its just strong enough to be detrimental to what could be an excellent beer. Though this beer is no slouch it could be a bit better if the alcohol were tamed down a bit. I think I might have to try aging a bottle to see if that helps.

Bottle, relatively fresh.

Pours a nice gold, fluffy head, plenty of floating matter. Nice spicy belgian yeast aroma, dry, orange zest, a drop of honey. Lovely tripel-style taste, lots of honey flavor but not overpowering sweetness by any sense of the imagination, turning to a nice hop-driven close. Plenty of that spicy yeast, the beer is another herb-garden-in-summer delight, honeybees buzzing around, sunshine beating down, full but not sticky on the tongue, very little sign of the 10% alcohol.

I’m quite positively impressed. This one surpassed expectations by a nice margin.

2nd Rating from 3rd Annual Woodshop tasting in Temple City, CA. 3/1/08. One hell of a day put on by Cquiroga, thanks for a killer day Chris. Also spent the day there with bikesanbeer, my girlfriend Cyn, wetherel, JohnC, DenverLogan, dirty martini, jasparg, DrBil, IPAFiend, awaisanen and many others, this was one crazy day. This was a 2000 Vintage 750 and it had aged incredibly well. Pours gold with a nice amount of sediment. Nose is sweet and strange and good though I can’t put my finger on what about it. Nose is strong and sweet and really overall tasty.

Bottle. Pours clear light gold with an insane amount of head. Thick, fluffy white clouds that leave plenty of lace. Spice, fruit, lemon aroma. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Sweet peach and toffee taste, with an alcohol-dry and spicy finish. A trace of pepper and just a little bitter on the exit.

What a nice Belgian strong. Definately a standout. Aroma was nice. Sweet spices, yeast and light fruit. Pour was a nice light gold with a 2 finger white head. Taste was delicious. Light fruit and heavy spices with grass and a yeasty aftertaste. Hides alcohol perfectly. I would have guessed this was 7%. Nice one.

Bottle poured a hazy golden yellow with a lasting creamy white head leaving lacing behind. Aromas of pear, cookie, spice and yeast. Palate was medium bodied and smooth with light carbonation. Flavors of straw, cookie, light fruitiness and a hint of spice with a smooth warming bittersweet finish.

750ml bottle shared by Mike. Bright clear golden yellow. Frothy white head with decent lace. Perfume, spruce, dough, lime, and sugar in the nose. Very subtle flavors of sugar and tropical fruit. Smidge of alcohol character. Light body. High carbonation. Dry finish. Very easy to drink.
