Yeah so after desperately trying to induce foam on my last 2 beers tonight, I try the same trick with this Malheur. Big mistake. Big Huge rocky white foam just erupts into my glass spilling over and forcing me to suck a little foam. I let it die down a little and proceed to pour a beautiful muffin top-like head above the wonderfully golden colored beer. Smell is ripe fruit with rock candy and a slight notice of herbal hoppiness, everything I look for in a great Belgian blond. Flavor is a fantastic balance of malt, sugar and hops. Seriously, this is up there with Duvel for the "Most Deceptive Use of Alcohol in a Belgian Golden Ale" award. Color me surprised, I was fully expecting a banana tinged syrupy mess with this. | 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Jul 28, 2007 Pours a nice coppery color with a big white head which quickly dissipates. The aroma is strong with grapes and apples....very fruity. The taste is much like the aroma and is very pleasing. I like this beer, but the downside is they are very proud of this beer, and a 4 pack of 11.2 fl-oz bottles is 12+ dollars :S. aracauna (2374), Georgia, USA

A little melon and the fruitiness of a chile pepper. The flavor is sweet and not really backed up by enough bitterness. Wim (1288), Turnhout, Belgium

Nice aroma of honey, flowers, peaches and apricots with a hint of yeast. On the palate a rich sugary sweetness gives way to a unique yeast sourness. Very fizzy and lively carbonation. belgiumking (8), Ocala, Florida, USA does not count | 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jul 21, 2007 Perfect example of style.
