RateandPillage (417), Atlanta, Georgia, USA Feb 5, 2006 Pours murky dark yellow with a big but quickly fading white head. Aroma of butterscotch, model glue, and sweat socks. Once you get past the aroma, flavor is actually pretty decent. zug4abby (287), San Diego, California, USA Jan 24, 2006 Thanks Chris! Pours a slightly hazy yellow/gold color with a small, clumpy head and a little bit of lacing. Aroma is malty and sweet with fruit hints. Flavor is slightly grassy and has some moderate alcohol hints to it Fairly light on the palate with a kind of strong lingering aftertaste. I enjoyed the fruity/light characters of this beer and how they balanced with the malt and yeast! CaptainCougar (5379), Rockville, Maryland, USA Jan 23, 2006 Bottle, thanks to TheBeerCellar2 for sharing: Lightly hazy pale golden pour has a well-lacing, clingy, clumpy white head. Floral sweet Belgian malty and dry aged hoppy aroma. Starts sweet with some nice Belgian yeasty character and a dry floral earthy finish, with some warming alcoholic complexity. A nice Belgian tripel. goldtwins (4079), Nesconset, New York, USA Jan 16, 2006 Big thanks to TheBeerCellar2: Poured a hazy dark yellow collor with a medium mostly white head. Sweet fruity aroma that smelled like candy. Flavor matched the aroma. Sweet and fruity. Semi-dry finish. Nice and warming but well hidden alcohol. MrWalker (927), Stockholm, Sweden Nov 14, 2005 Keg @ Akkurat, Stockholm Very blonde. Very big long lasting head. Extremely perfumed an soapy aroma, like at a womens hairdresser... A bit dusty saloon too. The alcohol is well hidden and it’s dangerously easy to drink. Plenty of CO2. However, the alcohol and some sweetness comes through in the aftertaste. Skinnyviking (4142), Copenhagen, Denmark Nov 10, 2005 Gold. Surprisingly long lasting head. Sizzling at the tongue, bitter close to sour, strong taste of hops. rickgordon (3285), Göteborg, Sweden Oct 17, 2005 Bottled. Sampled at Delirium Café, Göteborg.
Hazy pale yellow. Fresh, dewy nose with hints of marzipan and pale malts(is it Maris Otter?). Loads of malty marzipan notes in flavour and very malt bitter, in a good sense. Tejas (693), Dallas, Texas, USA Oct 17, 2005 Beautiful appearance. Nice corriander nose as well as flavor. This seems to be a BIG Tripel instead of a Belgian Strong Ale as described above and BIG it is. I’d say this is well drinkable but would be better and more flavors would be revealed if the alcohol flavor weren’t so upfront. I had a tough time picking up all the flavors due to the alcohol so this one is tough to describe in a lot of detail; nevertheless, I enjoyed the brew.
