DruncanVeasey (2690), The Penguin’s Arms, Europe, Warwickshire, England Apr 21, 2009 Gusher at The Penguin in freshly acquired £1 La Guillotine tulip. Ridiculous, uncontrollable Himalayan pour towering with froth. Superb enticing fresh hop and yeast aroma, suggesting marmalade, oak, houmous and lemon/lime jelly. Shit. Can you wring this kind of citrus out of Belgian hops?? Spruce, marmalade and pale nutty notes like a GA eisbock; big alcohol, but savoury flavours that make it irresistable. Little bit of warm. Really balanced, well-hopped, unsickly tripel/BSA it’s hard to pick fault with. Pinball (2693), Allerød, Denmark Apr 15, 2009 bottle. cloudy yellow, giant white thick smooth head. citrus and faint spices in the aroma. Very delicate aroma, strong citrussy. also some yeast and perhaps wheat in the foundation.
flavor is honey, faint bitterness, citrus. flavor is much sweeter than aroma, but is well rounded. ends a bit dry?. probably hops. plovmand (1590), Helsinge, Denmark Apr 5, 2009 Bottle. Bit hazy orange body with some floaties and a creamy medium white head. The nose is citrus, oranges, yeast, spices and sweet honey. Flavour is very much the same with some hoppy finish. Sprinkling carbonation. Overall its a great well crafted strong ale. hobbersr (393), Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada Apr 4, 2009 Pours a yellow-orange with tonnes of sediment and a small white head. Aroma is of citrus fruits (oranges, lemon, tangerine), honey, and yeasty bread notes. Tastes bright and very mead like. Fermented honey prevails on the palate with tangerine and lemon with grassy notes, preserved peaches, bready yeast and a dry finish. Lively carbonation. This beer is good, just not the best Belgian Strong out there. ben4321 (957), Rockville, Maryland, USA Mar 23, 2009 Location:

Overall Impression:
Really interesting beer, different then pretty much anything I’ve tried, combination of all kinds of flavors, but none of them over powering: fruity, floral, flavorful beer. Definitely worth drinking, especially if you like beers with a unique taste to them...
BlackForestCO (819), Fort Collins, Colorado, USA Mar 12, 2009 Bottle from NYbeer, thanks Steven. Poured a clear golden-yellow color with rising bubbles and a thick, billowing white head that slowly diminished and left some spotty lacing. Aroma of soft citrus fruit (peach, apricot, tangerine), a bit of doughy yeast, and some light floral hops. Moderately sweet, crisp entry with some fruity undertones of citrus (orange, apricot, and lightly tart lemon) leads into a moderate doughy yeastiness paired with some moderately dry, floral hops with a light undertone of orange peel and a soft lingering honey finish. Moderate prickly carbonation that bites the palate. Overall, a solid beer that is pretty tasty, but there is a bit of an alcohol presence/off-flavor on the finish that distracts from the flavor a little. michael-pollack (2603), King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, USA Feb 28, 2009 330ml Bottle: Aroma of alcohol, slight citrus, slight hops, yeast, honey, and slight funk. Poured yellow/orange/gold in color with a small white head that lasted throughout. Very hazy. No lacing. Flavor is lightly sweet. Tastes of yeast, honey, pale malts, slight alcohol, and earthy hops. Medium body. Chalky texture. Average carbonation. Sweet, slight alcohol and honey finish. BeerFanDan17 (610), Land O Lakes, Florida, USA Feb 24, 2009 Pours light golden with a large frothy head. Initial aroma is that of alcohol and apricot. Palate is a blossom of vanilla and more apricot. Surprisingly smooth.
