Jun 13, 2009 Bottle at the Belgian Brasserie Henry, shared with ogivlado.
Poured a murky golden body with a medium sized head. Walnut in the nose, malty with some light alcohol. Interesting. The taste is remarkably light for the strength, malty and nutty, notes of coriander and orange. Subtle. Good beer but it didn’t impress me as much as it should have had.

Apr 7, 2005 (on bottle)Hate the label, but what a great example of strong ale. Humble, but right-on champagne and barn sent. A very alcoholic mouthfeel, along with great yeast esters. Somewhat stick, sugarish finish, and finally the malts kicks in. Very straight product.

Apr 13, 2007 I really think that this style is getting over done, or at the very least, the style should have some subcategories. This is not the same as the Ommegang I just had- two different beers entirely. Was pleasent enough, but not stellar. I will try again though.

Jun 13, 2009 Pours golden with a fluffy white head. Aroma of esters and higher alcohols, pineapple, bubble gum and peach. Taste is sweet and fruity, with notes of citrus and candy. Mouthfeel is heavy bodied with lush carbonation and some booziness.

Jul 12, 2005 Bottle. Hazy/cloudy gold colour with large white head. Aroma is spicey, orange, honey; taste is honey and hoppy. Alcohol is evident, ’though not overly, in the finish. Quite highly carbonated, medium mouthfeel. Good stuff.

Sep 12, 2008 Pours a cloudy straw color with orange hues. Thin white layer of head. Aroma is sweet light grain and Belgian yeast, very fruity. The taste is very straightforward - very sweet and grainy, too grainy. Doesn’t offer a whole lot that is interesting.

May 12, 2009 Bottle from Kegs & Barrels in McKinney, TX. Pours a light gold, hazy, does have alot of sediment, white fizzy head. Aroma is fruity, had a mix of dark fruit, malty, alcohol, perhaps a little honey??? Flavor is malty, some fruit, also a little dark fruit, yeasty, alcohol, sweet. Mouth feel is heavy with high fizzy carbonation. Overall, WoW, some good shit!!!
