330 ml bottle from a trade with paco. pours very hazy golden with a huge white head and lots of sediment. aromas are yeasty with sweet malts and lots of hops but some how not very alluring. everything i look for in aromas is present but i didnt find it overly enticing. flavour are big and powerful with yeast, malts, and hops all there but this beer is a little rough around the edges. alcohol came through near the endof the flavour profile. overall pretty enjoyable but not something id have very often.

I don’t know, but I am starting to think that I don’t like Belgian strong ales, namely blonde and golden ones. This beer, and many others like it, tastes too damn hot, and harsh. I fail to see what you all are getting so excited about. American brewers have proved that you can brew a beer that is over 10% ABV and not have it taste like there is rubbing alcohol in it (imp stouts, barley wines, strong ipa’s, etc). This beer is astringent, if I ever were to drink Sea Breeze I would imagine it to taste like this. Brown Belgians like Westy and Rochefort taste malty and rich, heaven in a bottle, the exact opposite of thin and harsh beers like this. This beer is not terrible, but I guess it’s not my style. I just have a sneaking suspicion that many people rate these higher because they are Belgian. With the overpowering heat and harshness, I just don’t see where you are finding all of these flavors. Most of them taste about the same, fill the bottle with Gulden Drek and you’d never know the difference. Belgium does produce some awesome beer styles that I love, namely strong malty brown ales, lambics, and Flanders red ale, but I’m afraid that I just don’t get the strong blondes and goldens. To each his own, as I have been saying since I arrived here...

I wasn’t too impressed with the 12, but was pleased with the Malheur 10. Pours a nice gold color, lightly hazy, with a white towering head that has been beaten to stiff peaks by the time it goes from the bottle to the glass. Aroma is lightly sweet and yeasty. Flavor is champagne and alcohol up front, with a yeastiness in the finish. Mouthfeel lingers on the back of the tongue.

Purchased from the offy next to Buggenhout station. Golden with a fluffy white head. Nose of hops and yeast. Hoppy corriander taste with notes of yeast and lemon. Salty with a fizzy medium body. Average

Bottle. The light smell of yeast, a little bit sweet, a rather light aroma for a beer with 10 % ABV. It has a rather small white creamy head with a normal duration. The body is cloudy and orange. The first taste is light bitter, then it gets a little bit more sour and fruity with a quite long duration. The body is medium, dry and fizzy with a lot of carbonation. That’s a nice Malheur...

Very effervescent, to the extent that it gets in the way of the flavor a bit. Alcohol is somewhat harsh, as is the bitter spiciness, almost like a spicy lemon rind or some such. There is a decent sweet malt flavor under there, but I think it might take a bit of aging before this could be a really well-rounded beer.
