Pours a golden yellow colored body, some cloudiness. Huge white frothy head, diminishing, with good lacing. Light, floral, sweet aroma. Fruity like pears and apple juice. Some maltiness too. Dry sweet taste. Not overly strong, but some good flavor. Some light maltiness. Sweet fruity and floral taste. Some sharp bite, maybe the alcohol. Hides the 10% very well, though. Strong carbonation. Some spiciness, and a little alcohol as it warms more in the aftertaste. Uglyradio (775), Greenville, South Carolina, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Jul 16, 2003 This Belgian strong ale has a cloudy, golden color with a big, rocky, white head that is fully lasting. The aroma is fruity and spicy with some hoppiness and a mild, malty sweetness evident. It has a medium body with lively carbonation. The flavor is nicely balanced between the intense fruitiness, maltiness, and hoppiness. Apples, pears, and apricots all are evident in the flavor. The finish is long and fruity, with a nice, floral hop burst. The alcohol is well hidden. A great ale! Hangover (768), Atlanta, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Sep 7, 2007 Hazy gold color with a nice sized, frothy white head. Lemony, yeasty aroma with hay/grass and very light spice. Nice big carbonation with substantial body. Very warming initially, with honey-like sweetness. Towards the middle, some bread and yeast become evident. Finishes with spice, banana and while the alcohol is warming, it’s not distracting at all. Nice! voota (761), Melbourne, Australia
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 15/20 | Nov 3, 2007 Golden with a white fluffy head that sits around forever. Like the 6, the aroma is pretty sweet, but with more emphasis on the citrus/spice/yeast rather than the peachiness (which is still there in a little way). Smooth flavour, full but easy body. Flavours kink of follow the rindy citrus and light toasty sweetness from the aroma, a bit of alcohol runs through as the finish nears, which it should at 10%. The finish otherwise is a bit sweet and peppery. Really well made and dangerously smooth, like a good belgian. RollinHard (760), Fort Worth, Texas, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Aug 7, 2007 Pours a deep golden straw color with a big white head. To me, this is very funky on the nose. It’s very citrusy (lemons and oranges), but there’s a moderate amount of "rot" to the fruit, which works well here. There’s some cloves, sourdough bread, and a slight hint of white chocolate. Deep earthy taste at first, but there’s more to it. It’s like a strong pilsner malt taste with more sourdough bread notes. A slight bit of pepper as well. Finishes with the same flavors, but slightly drier. The fruit comes back a little bit, but it’s not dry enough, and/or there’s not enough hops to this. It’s cloying but without the syrupy body that should necessitate cloying, so it feels off. Highly carbonated body, but it feels creamy and medium to light, while the flavor lays on the throat heavily. No traces of any heat. Good stuff, but great aroma. lachesis (759), St Idesbald, Belgium
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 22, 2005 Hazy golden-yellow beer with light orange glow and creamy white head. Round sweet aroma with accents of herbs and eau de vie de Gratte-Cul. Also hints of malts, caramel malts, roasted nuts and burned edges of a fruit cake end with a vegetal herbal smell. Taste is round and has some alcohol sweetness and hints of sweet cake. also touches of herbs, hints of corriander. afthertaste is drying out and end with a strange bitter finish. | 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Oct 7, 2007 Bottle. Pours with a nice hazy golden yellow color and a light head. Highly carbonated, almost fizzy but in a good way. Somewhat lighter body but great flavors of bubblegum, banana, bread, some peperrines and a bit of alcohol heat. Quite good. beerslayer (753), New Jersey, USA
